I don't really see the point of officializing the unwritten rules we have always used. Anyways, I agree with this bill and I'd be voting for it.

For the record, I've always considered myself as the successor of AndrewCT. Wink

That's because you are. Tongue

The rules are somewhat weak now. Especially considering that each seat isn't considered a "separate entity" with a name/number this will change that, thank god Understand, number five? Tongue

It got somewhat complicated, so if someone wants to read through it and make sure it all makes sense, I would appreciate it. Tongue

For number 4, why use alphabetical instead of "political persuasion"?

Doesn't really matter, I'm just curious.

4) Clause 3 of Section Six will read: "If a party has multiple departing Senators and multiple incoming Senators, then the successors shall be organized alphabetically beginning at the lowest numbered seat held by the party."

The only 4 with the word "alphabetically" in it. Tongue

lol, Bgwah jumped the gone. That wasn't necessarily going to lead to an amendment. It may have, or it may not have. That would have been determined by the result of the coloqui (sp?).

With some thought into I have decided to support the amendment offered by bgwah.

Now for procedural matters. Is the amendment still on the table and does the sponsor of the underlying bill accept it as friendly? (Yes, I realize this requires bi-polar disorder to work. Tongue)

I kind of need answers to both questions and the sooner the better, like yesterday. Tongue

Aye

Final Vote on the Second Amendment to the Proportional Representation Act

Aye (6): Antonio V, Bgwah, HappyWarrior, Kalwejt, NC Yankee, shua
Nay (1): RowanBrandon
Abstain (0):

Failed to Vote (3): Duke, Oakvale, Snowguy

If one wants to move on to pressing matters, voting nay is the least effective way to do so as it mandates a 24 hour waiting period to allow Senators to change their votes. Such would not be the case with a unanimous vote. Tongue

Comes out dressed like Moses but actually looks like Glenn Beck on one of his worse days.

Behold, I hath before you in each of my hands, the two qualities which thy must seeketh to keep in balance. Quality legislation, and the speedy passage of bills. Wheneth thy hath become lazy, no-account, scoundrels a choice between the two is forced to be reckoned with. Whereas, thin active and engaged input can insure that both are achived without the expense of the former for the sake of the latter.
