Yes, an old Slavic term.

On the side note, Voivode is not an Governor equivalent. Under current system, he's a representative of the central government to the voivodeship, appointed by Prime Minister, in charge of a central administration agencies in a voivodeship.

The real equivalent of Governor would be Marshal of Sejmik (Sejmik is a some-kind of provincial legislature).
