Hello, esteemed former colleagues and newly sworn in Senators.

To answer the Senator from the Midwest's questions:

1) I'm willing to actively work with the SoEA in whatever capacity he asks. Ultimately, this government's foreign policy decisions will be made by the SoEA and especially the president, and while I, as GTO ambassador, will have considerable responsibilities and duties, I'll keep in mind the need to further the interests and goals of the administration I represent.

2) I hope to make the GTO more active and more involved in foreign policy and in Atlasia. I hope, especially with the appointment of Ben to head the DoEA, that foreign policy will be given a greater focus in this administration, and am ready and willing to play a part, both behind the scenes and in public, in fostering that.

3) My opinion regarding the protests in the Arab world is that we must be a constant friend of those who seek greater freedom and equality in their societies. We should continue to push our allies in the region to democratize their countries, both politically and economically; while much of the focus of these protests has been on the political demands and civil and human rights abuses of many of these regimes, I feel like too little attention has been given to the underlying economic grievances, the widespread poverty and corruption, that was a fundamental cause of the recent protests.

We must make it clear to the governments of Saudi Arabia and Bahrain that their brutal crackdown of protests in Bahrain is in breach of fundamental human rights. We must quickly work to aid the rebels in Libya, recognize the opposition government, and make it clear that Qaddafi is a war criminal who has lost all legitimacy. Preferably we should do the above through international organizations and with the support and cooperation of other governments, but the most important thing is that we support the citizens of Libya who are fighting for a more just, free and equal society.

With regards to Japan, I favored continued humanitarian aid and relief, and I also believe it's important that we work as closely as possible with the Japanese in monitoring the nuclear crisis in the country.

4) Yes, I will. During my presidency I weighed in a number of foreign policy issues, including the overthrow of Chavez in Venezuela and protecting our allies in Taiwan from Chinese aggression. Foreign policy is a vital part of simulating a real country and a real government and I think it's important that we put more of an emphasis on it.

I believe that working together with other countries is vital to protecting our interests abroad, and encouraging democracy, economic cooperation and the rule of law around the world. The GTO is an important institution for facilitating this coming together of nations.
