Votes:
1 Johnson E(10) K(3+3+3)
17 Knox E(10+10) K(3)
10 Wilson E(10)

Safety:
2 Hancock
2 Shriver

Results:
Voters were especially certain of what they wanted in this round, with none choosing to split either their eliminate votes or their keep votes among multiple choices.

With 17 votes, Secretary of the Navy Frank Knox has had his chances of winning sunk by your lack of enthusiasm for him.  A newspaperman and former Rough Rider who was an advocate of military preparedness, he was tapped by FDR to be his Secretary of the Navy in 1940 to ensure bipartisan support for his preparations for World War II.

It is fitting that Vice President Henry Wilson was brought low by a Southern Atlasian.  This ardent Massachusetts Free Soiler is also known as the author of his three volume History of the Rise and Fall of the Slave Power in America.

William Crawford [2 safety points, P (1824)]
John Edwards [3 safety points, P (2004), VP (2004)] eliminated ROUND 2
Gerald R. Ford [2 safety points, P (1976)] eliminated ROUND 2

Winfield Hancock [5 safety points, P (1880)]
Hiram Johnson [2 safety points, VP (1912)]

Cast 3 keep votes as you wish between one or two people.

Give one person a safety point, but you cannot give a safety point to someone in the same round you give them a keep vote.

This round will be open for at least 24 hours.

Vote:
2 Crawford E(2)
1 Johnson E(10) K(3+3+3)
10 Hancock E(10)
12 McNary E(8+4)
3 Seymour E(6) K(3)

Safety:
1 Bramlette
1 Hancock
2 Parker

Results:
You were apparently feeling contrary about Senate Minority Leader Charles McNary, the 1940 Republican Vice Presidential nominee, as with 12 votes he is the first to depart this round. A real self-starter, the McNary Dam that was built after his death contains two small turbines whose purpose is to provide the power needed for the operation of the dam itself, making the facility an important one in the event that a widespread power outage requires the power grid to be restarted.

Despite having enough safety points to not lose the first tiebreaker against anyone in the Gemini tribe, Winfield Hancock is eliminated with 10 votes.

The seven survivors of the Gemini who have survived for the merge into the Spring tribe are:
Thomas Bramlette [2 safety points, VP (1872)]
Calvin Coolidge [3 safety points, P (1924), VP (1920)]
William Crawford [2 safety points, P (1824)]
Winfield Hancock [5 safety points, P (1880)]
Hiram Johnson [2 safety points, VP (1912)]
Alton Parker [4 safety points, P (1904)]
Horatio Seymour [3 safety points, P (1868)]
R. Sargent Shriver [6 safety points, VP (1972)]
