Oh dear, dear. You really are too naïve to have anything to do with politics.

I'm talking about it from a legal standpoint.  Until you cross the line into penalizing him, you don't have a First Amendment violation.  That's all I'm saying.  The intent may be implied, but an implication doesn't make the act of requesting the information unconstitutional.  So don't assume that I'm naïve, because you know what happens when you assume...
