We Ask America:

So how will all that affect Gov. Quinn’s approval rating? On March 20, we asked 1,184 registered Illinois voters this question:

In general, do you approve or disapprove of the job Illinois governor Pat Quinn is doing?

30.6% Approve
60.7% Disapprove

But, all the lefties here maintain that the route to prosperity and popularity is to keep increasing spending and taxation.

Quinn has followed that route.

Psst, Carl! Don't look now but your boys in Wisconsin and Ohio aren't exactly the most popular guys in the world.

Last time I checked, they were still more popular than Quinn.

That's not exactly an accomplishment.

But the point is slightly lost when the union-busters are still faring much better than Quinn. Granted, being a politician in Illinois is not exactly a recipe for popularity, so it's not as if we'd be expecting Quinn to do great or anything.

Quinn did the right thing, sometimes that will make you unpopular. So be it.

Walker did the right thing, sometimes that will make you unpopular. So be it.

Yep. It's curious how the Kossack crowd only decided to poll GOP governors...

Nope, they also poll Dem. Governors and find that they also suck:

Except that Quinn has been governor two years now and has done even more unpopular things, like raising taxes.

OTOH, his Republican counterparts should have been enjoying their honeymoons now.

Where is the do-over question that they asked about other Governors?

The "do-overs" are only included in the PPP polls, not in the polls that PPP does for DailyKos.

The main point is that the man recently stood for re-election and won with similarly horrible approval ratings. Why? The alternative was fascism.

Not necessarily. Brady struck more as a Tea Party demagogue in the mold of Rand Paul rather than a Scott Walker type.

Yes, Quinn has been working in politics for 40 years, both in elected and appointed positions, this is pretty much it for him.

Quinn has followed that route.

Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn said Monday that he signed off on a budget that he knew fell short of funding state government for a full year because he didn’t want Republicans to get a seat at the bargaining table.

Cutting spending kills jobs. Simple as that.

So, what about increasing taxes?
