Not a real surprise...

Interesting campaign launch.  Trying to go for the unity card.

Low name recognition.  Won't get very far.  He probably won't even be invited to any primary debates.

Crappily made website. I doubt he'll rake in enough cash to make it to Iowa.

Those morons who kept saying Biden would be dropped for Clinton can now officially STFU.

Have you seen he has "Hussein" in the middle of his name ?
Is this guy an Arab, or even a Muslim ?!?
Unelectable.

Not only is the website poorly designed, but it's really peculiar, almost defeatist.  No pictures or exciting soundbites of the president.  Some mild but not very enthusiastic supporters on the video, and one guy even saying: "I don't agree with Obama on everything, but..."  Not exactly a bumper-sticker.  No overriding message with a vision of the future.  A piss poor job, really.

Makes Pawlenty's ad and website seem energizing by comparison. So they grabbed some lady in Nevada who looks like she's a former hippie, some Hispanic family, Wanda Sykes lookalike and some hen-pecked guy who still "doesn't agree with Obama on everything".

Landslide written all over it Smiley

The campaign hasn't even really started yet, a basic website is all that is necessary right now.

The Obama campaign could of at least waited another week-or-two to get a better, mor user-friendly website up.  This website sucks hard...

I guarantee you that if the website were better, people would be complaining about all the money that must have gone into it.

Who are these "people" you speak of?  It wouldn't be me, Obama can spend his money as he sees fit...but a nicer website would be appreciated...

I just think it's a very anemic website, even for the very beginning of a campaign.  I mean, the thing has links for volunteering and donating, so it would probably be a good idea to have some inspiring stuff on there so that visitors would be motivated to volunteer and donate.  I'm sure they'll improve it as the campaign progresses (they'll have to), but sheesh, that thing is pathetic.  How much extra would it really have cost them to put some images of the president and some clips of an inspiring speech or two and come up with some slogan capturing Obama's vision (something better, please, than the cheesy "win the future").  It doesn't give the impression that they're excited (or confident) about running.

I don't see what's wrong with the website.  It has a video for people to watch, mailing address signup, and a donation button.  What more does he need in April 2011?  There's not enough to talk about yet.

They should have done the same ad with a bunch of crazy tea parties who yell "Obama is the Muslim Hitler!" all the time or something. At the end the ad should have stolen from Jon Stewart by superimposing the slogan "Campaign to Restore Sanity".
