A resolute and definitive no. The last thing we need is easing zombie recruitment.

I'm going to oppose this, sorry.

If you want to join, you can wait a little.

You really don't remember zombie invasion, when people were registering onsite just to get involved in Atlasia? Come on!
The zombie invasion occurred due to people previously in the game. All this would do is slightly delay the inevitable, Dave forbid that ever happens again.

That's why I sponsored a bill really dealing with the issue, which was rejected at unanimity. Tongue

Still this bill could only make things worse.

I'm not supporting any lowering of registration requirement, compromise or not compromise.

There is absolutely no valid reason to pass this, and I hope the Senate will reject it whatever the final bill is.

What's the current incarnation of this bill? 10 days and 50 posts?
Yes. A reasonable compromise from what liberals want (current) and what most conservatives want (combination of historical ones)

That's not a conservatives vs. liberals issue. That's an issue between prudent people who don't want to ease the next zombie invasion, and foolhardy people who don't realize the dangers of this bill.

Yeah, I admit time is probably a better protection than number of posts. If the current requirement is 7 days and 75 posts, I'd agree to 10 days and 50 posts.

Rename this bill "modification of registration requirements" though. Tongue

We are two, if 2 other Senators disagree with this bill we can kill it in the Senate vote.

All right, thanks for clarification.

I promised voting aye if amendment is accepted and I'm going to keep my word as a matter of honor, even if I were confused.

Sorry to say that, but it was a f**king stupid promise.

I really don't think it is going to hurt much. My amendments were to make sure it won't hurt that much Tongue

There is a huge difference between 50 days and 10 days. If this passes, we could get overwhelmed before even realizing it.

Oh, sorry, I actually misread the constitution's text. Well, that's fine. If the number of days is made higher it makes sense to diminish the number of posts in order to avoid spamming. Put it at 18, 20 days and I'll support the 50 posts.

Ok, I offer this Amendment and beg my fellow Senators to vote aye in order to keep Atlasia protected from zombies.

Also, any Senator voting aye will be personally invited for a nice party in my beautiful villa, with the most "committed" girls from my campaign team. Grin

Fellow Senators, I pray you to remember the lessons of the past and realize that when it comes to protecting our democracy prudence is never too much.

Nay

My fellow colleagues supporting more stringent registration requirements would turn this place into a club of a few select people that have satisfied the insane requirements in order to play the game.  Atlasia should be available to any and all who are interested without undue barriers.

If you were really that put off by people like Hamilton, get over it!  You act as if you lost sleep over it, when in fact it probably only increased legitimate interest in the game.  I know I joined because I wanted to get in on the action.  I can't imagine wanting to join now if I were still uninvolved.

Damn, next you'll be saying Hamilton helped revive the NE in late 2009. Antonio is going to be mad when he sees this. Tongue

I can't even respond to so much bullsh*t.

Ok guys, pass this crap and enjoy the next zombie invasion.

I'd apreciate too if President Tmthforu could respond to Marokai's post. It really sums up all the concerns of all the opponents of this bills, concerns that still haven't been adressed.

Whatever he does, I will object.

Approved.  Sorry I forgot this was under my sponsorship since it is an administration bill lol.

Senators have 24 hours to object to Amendment 1.

Is this the Amendment striking down post requirements entirely ? If it's, I object.

If my count is right, there are 5 nays and one abstention, so unless someone changes his vote the Amendment is mathematically rejected.

So new idea, per Junkie:

Perhaps make extremely low requirements (if any) to join the game. Make another set of requirements to actually vote.

Thoughts? I will say, this would be a bit more of a hassle for the RG, SoFE, and party chairmen. Tongue

I think it's an excellent idea. It will take time to craft such a bill, though.
