How is a loss in any straw poll besides Ames embarrassing? They mean nothing.

This is telling:

"He had a group of supporters from the nearby Christian school Bob Jones University in attendance Saturday."

Doesn't speak well to how he'd perform in a statewide primary, even in a socially conservative state like SC. Still, good organizing feat that shows he might display signs of life in caucuses.

The biggest news here IMO was Barbour was one of the three candidates to address the convention and apparantly bombed---badly. In a state that should be home turf for any serious bid too.
