Are we through in those places? Do we still have troops there?
We are through in both places, but the Budget Process Committee still put over $100 billion dollars there for military operations.

I've always been told that we were out of both Irak and Afghanistan. But of course all this happened far before I've joined, so I'll let older Atlasians explain it a bit more clearly.
We are. We're just still funding it.

We're funding a war we are no longer fighting? Where is the money going?

You are correct. Where is the money going currently? That's a good question.

Once again, I'd like to strongly encourage the Senate to pass this bill.

The recent Foreign Policy Review's have all indicated that we are not involved in any involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan. Until this all is settled, I won't sign or veto the bill unless we still don't have this resolved by the 25th.

So in essence, why don't we amend this bill to pull any remaining troops out of Iraq and Afghanistan?

I hate vetoing this, because I think the original purpose of it was so strong. I think it's important, especially with success in the regions, that we begin a plan to phase out of Iraq within the coming months/years, as well as develop a set plan for Afghanistan.

We're going into a territory here that has barely been covered in Atlasia, oddly enough. Will certainly be a wake-up call to many Atlasians, who reckoned we were out of both places.
