PA is always close, but I am counting on Casey blowing away any opponent and helping Obama carry the state. We will see.

This seems like it's possible to be a popular governor.

It is fairly common for the governor to drop in the first year in PA.  Both Ridge and Rendell had problems.

BTW:  I really don't like Tom Corbett, Space Cadet.

I supported Onorato through and through in '10.

Bye, Bye PA for the GOP.

That's utterly ridiculous......when you take over the job you do all of the dirty deeds immediately......then unless the sh**t hits the fan 3 years later during campaign time, it will be forgotten.

Sample 51% Democrat....yawn.

This is a registered voter poll.

The current registered voter composition in PA is:

51% DEM
37% GOP
12% OTH

Even if you re-weight it to the 2010 exit poll (40D/37R/23I), Corbett would have a 36/41 approval and would be tied with Onorato in a rematch.

Or maybe Pennsylvania voters saw what happened in Ohio, Michigan and Wisconsin, and are getting antsy and suspicious of him and the other Republicans.

He's doing exactly what he said he'd do when he was running......the November 2010 poll is his mandate.

That's why he is polling at -10 and not -20 or -30 like his counterparts.

It's not just that. The poll has Corbett getting Lynn Swann levels of support from his Republican base. Realistically he would have gotten much more support from Republican voters.

Registered voters poll you say?

"Booooo, we don't like the guy in charge!"

"Why did you vote for him, then?"

"Oh, no no no. We don't vote. We just complain 'bout stuff in this household and do nothing about it."

I don't understand the point of these polls.  What if Onorato won in November?  Does anyone think he would still beat Corbett?

Here is a proper poll.

http://www.quinnipiac.edu/x1327.xml?ReleaseID=1593

While 39 percent of Pennsylvania voters approve of the job Gov. Tom Corbett is doing, 37 percent disapprove, a statistical tie, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today.

Corbett gets a thumbs up on job approval from Republicans 64 - 18 percent and independents 40 - 31 percent, but gets a 55 - 20 percent negative rating from Democrats.

Quote
From April 19 - 25, Quinnipiac University surveyed 1,366 registered voters with a margin of error of +/- 2.7 percentage points. Live interviewers call land lines and cell phones.

See previous snarky comments.
