From extensive discussions with JCL, I'm also pretty sure that he's real. He knows an extensive amount about Indiana politics, something I can't see Libertas knowing too much about.

There are quite a few things that JCL has said (namely his somewhat positive opinion of Reagan) that lead me to believe that he most definitely isn't Libertas.
Say what you want about the man but Libertas was no Hamilton.  If Libertas created a sock account and started posting under that monkier, we wouldn't think, WE WOULD KNOW that poster was Libertas.

JCL is not Libertas. I've had many a discussion with him and he tends to use more personal opinions to back up his statements rather than facts, which Libertas did.
