No. Here is the problem. The winner of the last Lt. Governor election swore in, than resigned. The only thing that can happen now is the Governor can appoint a new Lt. Governor, UPON the recomendation of the Assembly. So, I'm guessing once the new Assembly has been sworn in, they can pick a new Lt. Governor, and the Governor can approve it.

Technically, the Northeast does not have a Governor right now. He has been forcefully removed from office.

He's Governor until he is put to a recall vote, which means he should just appoint you LT. Governor and resign to save us all the trouble, time, and disgrace. He has no chance.

I wonder if the POP Emperor will allow that...

He can't. The Assembly cam put forward the name, and the Governor has to approve of it. Thats one of those pesky things I was fighting against during my last term as Governor.

First you have to survive the recall vote, which I doubt you will.

I'm running against someone in my own party for Governor?

Fair enough.

Maybe the Northeast POP should organize a primary to see who gets the party endorsement?

I think that'd be too much effort. The Constitution says that we must have an election immediately following a recall, but I'm giving a good 30+ hours after the recall for candidates to announce and for people to determine who they want as their Governor. If the party calls for a primary, I'd...well...we'll see.

See now, voting off Andrew in February 2010 was a great mistake and an original sin of this region.

This is kind of like an update thread. For instance, if the NE Electorate votes to recall the Governor, it will be posted here. It also helps keep track of declared candidates.

But, to be clear, it ought in no way to serve as the only thread in which someone can declare his candidacy. Posting to that effect can be done in the official candidate declaration thread.

I think what he means is, "Is recalling an elected official constitutional?"

Yes, recalling an elected official is Constitutional, per the NE Constitution's Recall Amendment.

Yes, it is constamatutiounal. Its just very berry illegal to have anyone OTHER than the regions Chief Executives opening a booth. Again, I suggest that the Assembly decide on a candidate for Lt. Governor, ASAP, and present it to the Governor. OR, the Governor could just find someone to be CJO.

Governor Ghost_white appointed me as the region's Lt. Governor, but I think we should just recommend a CJO for now.

Why?
