iPhone 4

Here we just buy the phone (maybe $30 for a cheap Nokia), and the phone number - another $1.50 or $3, and then just pay for the minutes by buying refill codes at 7-11.  I love it, can't believe americans have to commit and all that nonsense.

I know what you mean, and before the advent of smartphones I would have agreed with you, but there's now exponentially more you can do with a phone, plus I need constant access to my email at all times, as well as the unlimited monthly text plan, so for me having to commit to a contract is well worth it.

My phone is so terrible it:

1. Has no camera
2. Does not offer any suggestions in T9word mode, just goes with its first guess automatically

I don't expect anyone can beat me on that (except maybe the olds without cell phones)

Since angus and I have the dinosaur phones, I don't think either of us are going to be in the mood to switch anytime soon.

I believe in you, BushKenya.

I've already tried faking it. It doesn't work.  The app is too smart for that.  I can't drive 3 mph, plus I would clog traffic.

What's wrong with Steve Jobs knowing every move you make, gramps? Doesn't it help knowing there's someone looking out for you? Wink

My phone also has no camera, and my whatever you call it text thingy (its a 'T9word mode'??) also just goes to the first guess, and then you just have to push a button to make it go through the other options.

I doubt there is any person on this forum, however old, who has no mobile phone.  I resisted until about 2001, but that's it.
