I read in the post how the democrats are wailing election fraud in Ohio because of the electronic voting without a paper trail.  As I republican, I think the electronic voting is good, but yes it does need a paper trail, just like an ATM machine.

That said, why aren't you democrats concerned about Wisconsin's same day registration where all you have to do is have somebody in the precinct say, "Yup, Joe lives here."  There is just as much potential, maybe even more, for fraud.

It seems as if, if your candidate wins, it's a good system.  If he loses, it fraud.  Both democrats and republican (and independents) need to demand reform to BOTH these situations.

Agreed,
OH No.
Wisconsin has same day registration, so on election day >40,000 people registered.  Many (most?) were students who may have already voted by Absentee in their home states.  since no one checks cross state registration, such double voters could account for the Kerry margin.

In NJ its even easier to committ voter fraud.  Although registration closes 20 days before the election, unregistered voters only need go to the closest judge (inevitably a liberal democratric judge) and say they sent in a voter registration form.  The judge then allows them to cast a vote (regular not provisional).   There is no check that they didn't vote by absentee, or that they in fact ever did register.
Of course NJ is so Democratic this fraud does not end up affecting the election
