Meh, better late than never. I really hope this can help reviving the dying arab revolution's momentum.

I think just the once, but he did say he'd stay on until the next elections at one point early on too.

And one of a rare sort--a four-way civil war! (Between Saleh, the urban opposition, the tribal opposition, and the Islamist opposition)

Saleh has left the country btw. To have his recent injuries treated in Saudi Arabia. Which means that he at least intends to return. We'll see about that though. (When people start to shoot with grenades at you most politicians would probably get the message that it is time to resign...).

I don't know. Saleh left the country with a large entourage and it looks awfully like a face-saving reason to leave the country. He may not mind leaving power per se, but no one will want to be remembered as the person who fled the country in panic.

His sons are still in the country though, aren't they?  Doesn't look like the Saleh family as a whole has given up on retaining power.

That's nasty. You don't get up and go after a few days from that.

Call me cynical, but part of me thinks the Saudis have an incentive to exaggerate the state of injuries. It would be a good cover to prevent his return to his country.
