I am integrating the recurring theme of BRTDs 10 year old daughter and 37 year old tweed, although the ideas were independently formed.

I take it you're dirtying yourself with modern society now:

What our society celebrates today is shallowness, and the mere pastiche of ideas.

True to form in real life, the non-moderates have done most of the talking

On your side, maybe. Otherwise, let's not kid ourselves.

Just caught up on the last few episodes of BushOK, and I have to give credit where it's due to jmfcst here:

The quote was "I have prepared you for 30 years for this big move.  Be still, and know that I am God, Be strong and of a good courage.  I have work left for you in Oklahoma, but you will not be a permanent resident of Oklahoma.  These men at Maisha need your help.  Don't worry about how you will get down there and don't worry about anything, I've got you in my arms.  Every hair on your head is numbered.  I know every thing about every one of your days before they even happen.  Be Still, and Know that I am GOD."

sorry, I haven't kept up with this thread, but this "commission" is simply a bunch of quotes from scripture mingled together:

"...Be still, and know that I am God... Be Still, and Know that I am GOD."

Psalm 46:10 “Be still, and know that I am God” (KJV, verbatim)

Deuteronomy 31:6 “Be strong and of a good courage” (KJV, verbatim)

Matthew 10:30 “And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered.”

"Don't worry about how you will get down there and don't worry about anything"

Mat 6:25-28; Luke 12:22-29 “Do not worry”

I know every thing about every one of your days before they even happen."

Jer 1:5 "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you;  Before you came to birth I consecrated you; I appointed you as prophet to the nations.”

Etc, etc, etc.

Bushie, aside from being uncommonly long-winded, I don't recall any example in scripture of a commission that quotes bible verses, esp so many bible verses.   Even in the account of commissions given within the NT, there is no example of God using so many bible quotes even though God had the entire OT from which to quote.

also, if you strip out the direct bible quotes (including God's apparent preference for the KJV, even though it is 2012), the rest of it is pretty poorly written, being somewhat of a vague ramble with some platitudes (bible quotes) thrown in to give it the appearance of authority, but it just doesn't have the laser-like focus of authority that a word from God has.

God doesn't have one specific template for how He speaks to His children.  WHy shouldn't He use Scripture?  He is the Author of Scripture and Scripture is 100% accurate.

Plus, John 1:1 says "In the Beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and Word WAS God."

When God speaks Scripture to me, He is basically speaking Himself as God the Son.

granted God doesn't have a specific template, but seeing that of all the scriptural examples which show God giving commissions to people without God feeling the need to includes quotes of scripture within those commissions, this sure has the appearance of something you made up and laced with KJV bible quotes to make it look authentic.

I just assumed they were Bible quotes. An interesting angle though, is that since the eloquent parts are just not the way Bushie writes (or probably can write), then if they were in fact not Bible quotes (or quotes from some other text) ... ?

I guess what I am saying as a Godless one, is that the words had to be Biblical quotes as it were. Smiley

Naso, I never said you're racist, that wasn't the point of my post at all. But you should familiarize yourself with the quote, "The lady doth protest too much, methinks."

I haven't read Romeo and Juliet since Jr. High, although we did watch the movie.
It is actually from Hamlet (Act III, scene II,), spoken by Queen Gertrude. I would advise you also to familiarize yourself with the quote, "I say there is no darkness but ignorance."

Good. Obama's taking a minority stance on this issue, and this could be something Romney needs to fire up conservatives. Also, this takes away Obama's ability to attack Romney for being a flip-flopper without looking like a complete hypocrite.

But....isn't the poor economy (caused by the EVULLL MARXISSST incumbent) the primary concern of conservatives?

Moderator: President Obama, why did you change your opinion on gay marriage?

Obama: Well-uh-I-uh-where's my teleprompter?

Romney: Flip-flopping on gay marriage isn't going to help the economy.

Mitt, is that you? Why are you posting on message boards?

I'm skeptical that Obama's leading by that much or by any at all.

Most polls I've seen have had Romney leading(albeit narrowly) or have been a complete tossup.

You mean that one poll conducted by Dartmouth you are using to justify your fairy tale world where this is a tossup election with no lean towards Obama?

I'd type out a a much in-depth response, but I don't have the time or effort to waste on forum posters like you.

You have no response because polls have been consistent about Obama leads in New Hampshire since the bottom dropped out from underneath Romney in January. You try to come off as a reasonable conservative but you're just a hack and I'm calling you out on it.

Whyterain, no matter what you say, I will never take you seriously. You have Oregon, Minnesota and Maryland going GOP in your 2012 map. If you honestly believe any of those scenarios will occur, you clearly are undeserving of being taken seriously.

Let me correct this, he indeed does not have Maryland going GOP, but he does have the following states going GOP:

Oregon, Minnesota, Nevada, New Mexico, Iowa, Wisconsin, Maine (and both CDs,) New Hampshire and Pennsylvania going GOP. Now, I'm of the belief that Wisconsin and Pennsylvania might go GOP, but for the most parts, those other states won't.

Back in 2009, I predicted the GOP to win only 50 seats in the 2010 elections.  (I think it's too easy to make predictions after August of the election year.)  The GOP won 63.  If anything, right now I think I may be giving Obama too much credit at 191 electoral votes.  After all, Hoover and Carter won only six states each in their re-election tries.  I'm giving Obama credit for 13.

You don't look at national and individual state polling, do you? You make your maps citing history and gut feeling, I'm guessing? Good lord.

Alcon, I think Mr. Moderate's post sums NY Jew fairly well; he is ridiculously homophobic, eager to label others anti-Semitic, and not much else.
I don't have a phobia.  (I hate that term)

I agree, I think you're a hateful bigot, and I will be happy to call you that instead. In fact I find it more fitting, because "-phobia" indicate something people can't help, and clearly you choose to be a disgusting pierce of garbage.
Happy now?

Well it seems potentially infractible. Hopefully all the kleig lights for it won't precipitate that. Toning it down to "prejudiced" would have perhaps avoided the issue. Smiley  Anyway, sometimes the source of all of this seems more like "HAL" that one hears on a broken record spinning on a turntable which just keeps slipping to the prior track and saying the same thing over and over, as opposed to anything real.

Yeah I referenced that. Granted Rochambeau's was over a much shorter time frame, if he continued he might've had a similar string.

Yeah, I had about as many as him when Blubb posted that.
