Well, I've been to a _trump rally as well (though I was kicked out about halfway through). Your part of the country differs from the majority of America in that _trump is indeed stronger with young than old where you live, but this isn't the case in the majority of the United States. As for gender, regardless of anecdotal evidence, _trump is pretty consistently at least a tad weaker with women than men (though sometimes it is by much more than a tad).

Regardless, anecdotal evidence doesn't demonstrate a lot; much as exit polls of elections don't tell us anything about the people who don't vote, _trump rallies tell us nothing about people who oppose _trump: how numerous they are, how intense their feelings are, or their demography. _trump's chances of winning the general election are infinitesimally small compared with Cruz's, even though he does better in the general election in your part of the country.

It seems to me that most of the political fury described is between Hillary and Bernie supporters.

It seems strange to me since despite being outspoken in my desire that Donald Trump be president, I've never had a problem with any of the Bernie supporters I know, especially because that includes half of my family. And most of the Cruz/Kasich supporters I know are probably only silently disappointed.

I don't know any Hillary supporters, but I'm neither a senior citizen, a Southerner, nor an employee of Goldman Sachs, so that was kind of predictable.
