Rockefeller looks surprisingly marginal to me.

Maybe he's becoming the Max Baucus of WV?

Rockefeller is a totally different creature from Baucus, whose poor approvals stem from his handling of HCR. Rockefeller is probably too liberal for a state like West Virginia, but his long tenure in the state, personal wealth, and weak opposition keeps him in that seat.

Edit: Oh, and this one is safe D. Capito won't go for it.

I thought we were talking about Manchin being like Baucus.

Well, I was saying that both Baucus and Rockefeller are elder statesman who are under performing in the polls. Baucus was hurt by his front-and-center healthcare roll and now West Virginians might be starting to see Rockefeller as too liberal. Still, Rockefeller could be a Senator for life.
