Have you looked at the way Gaddafi dresses? It's fantastic! I would be supporting him if he wasn't such a murderous prick. Opebo is just willing to overlook that.

Opebo basically thinks the end of dictatorships in the Middle East will turn the whole region into an Islamist cesspool.
^^^^^^^^^^^^
Ditto for jmfcst. Better the problem you know than the one you don't.

I doubt that opebo considers the existence of dictatorships in the Middle East (or anywhere else for that matter) to be much of a problem though.

Right - I don't mind them one bit.  And they definitely seem better than the Bearded Men of the Street.  I suppose the dictator is my best hope for a return of some facsimile of the ancien régime.

Whenever you agree or disagree, opebo at least have a balls to stand with his positions.

Nah. He has to pretend to care about poor people to get adoration from the less intelligent left-wingers on here.

I don't think that he has ever claimed to really "care" on a personal level.

Precisely, Eraserhead - in fact I have stated bluntly and usually in posts replying to this dunderhead Gustaf that I do not care about them - my critique is based more on annoyance that people can't see the global slave-labor-camp for what it is than the actual oppression going on within.

It isn't that I love the common man, or even socialism, I just hate bourgeois liberalism and its blatant misrepresentations.

And ultimately, as Napoleon points out, I just like the cut of the man's jib - who can't love Muammar Gaddafi?  The man is an extravagant charmer - his clothes, his manner, his disheveled mien, his troupe of Ukrainian blond 'nurses'.  There is so much to love.  He is pretty much how I would imagine myself had I been born more fortunately.

You admit to the truth when someone calls you out on it, but in between you still dress your views in more appealing rhetoric. I suspect it is because the less intelligent part of the left-wing on an internet forum are the only people you don't have to directly pay money to care about you. So you pay them a little bit of dignity instead by lying about your views. Quite human and all, I suppose.

You don't need "balls" to say stupid things. There are plenty of idiots who say stupid things and pretend they should be admired for standing against the "lamestream".

I'm not understanding how you consider my statements to be 'lies' (maybe its the head injury) ... perhaps you could clarify.

TBF, very few idiots would be as entertaining as Opebo. On the whole though Opebo's popularity with certain people might best be declared by this forum's bigggest flaws: the absence of an intelligent Marxist critique of society. We really need this one poster who will explain how every move of the Western World is a cynical, imperialist mindtrick (Opebo does this semi-okayish), how workers are being exploited and humiliated (good points for Opebo here) and how Capitalism ravages the soul of man (here Opebo's record is a mixed bag again.)  Preferrably someone who lives a more restrained lifestyle than Opebo. A poster like that would probably draw some fans away from Opebo towards his own gravitational field.

You claim to be offended quite often or express a desire to see the rich slaughtered and overthrown by the masses. This is obviously just a posture, since you side against the masses when they actually rise up.

Whenever you're called out you pretend that you're just observing facts and not picking a side, but unless someone calls you out you apparently feel the need to shroud your cynicism in mainstream left-wing rhetoric. I can't help but finding it a wee bit pathetic.
