I'm not really picky at all and will eat most things. Some things I don't like: cooked olives (I can eat raw ones all day, but on a pizza or something they're gross), poor quality tomatoes (the whitish-pinkish grainy ones; I'll gladly eat a nice red, juicy one), bleu cheese (one of the few foods I legitimately hate the taste of), licorice, radicchio and meat that is too fatty (I seriously have no idea how people eat fat, it makes me gag).

There are some foods I don't hate, but I'm not going to go out of my way to eat them, like chickpeas (though hummus is delicious) or broccoli or raw mushrooms. Also I think most snack foods are disgusting (like oreos or funyuns) unless I'm drunk/high.

My least favorite cuisine is Indian. Or at least, the "Indian" food I like was invented in Scotland. And the "Chinese" food I like was invented in New York City.

There are very few foods that I can't stand...

* Vegemite, the stuff is naaasty, which is odd since I like salty foods, and it is salty, I just HATE smell and taste of it

* Butter OR margarine on sandwiches - NO!!!

* corned beef

* offal of any description, unless completely pulverised in pate...

* pickles

Foods I don't like, but will eat out of politeness

* Duck (or anything REALLY gamey - love venison though)

* Zucchini

* Squash (basically the cooked texture reasons)

* Pork (loin is ok, but the rest... either too fatty, or too dry)

I'm allergic to chilies - which makes it interesting.

Oh and foods I love that a lot of people here and out in the big bad world don't

- Seafood/shellfish (except mussels) - ugh could live on it

- Olives - raw and cooked

- Mushrooms

- Onions and garlic

Uh, you're not supposed to just get a spoon and dig in...

I think he means like on a sandwich or dipping your french fries in it (which is disgusting).

I have to agree that mayo is not very good... it has an unsavory eggy flavor that can be quite offensive.  I'd much rather just have butter and good mustard on a sammich.

I think it's the German in me, I love mayo with chips and especially with sausages....

I really don't like mashed potatoes, brussel sprouts, overly sweet/processed stuff, or marsh-mellows (unless they're in hot chocolate then they're tolerable). Besides that I'll eat basically anything and my tastes tend towards the very spicy in general.

I think the German in you would prefer ketchup with "chips" and mustard with your sausages Wink
I think mayo is more of a French/Belgian thing.

By the way:  Unlike many.. I hold both English and German cuisine in high regard.  It's not as sophisticated as French (which is probably the best cuisine on earth)... but it's the ultimate in comfort food.  What's better than red cabbage and a well prepared piece of pork with gravy and some boiled potatoes?

I'd love scandinavian cuisine if it wasn't quite so fish oriented... though gravlax is pretty amazing.

Funny to see the mushroom hate. I know a girl who suffers from mycophobia. My friends had some fun with that when we went to Vancouver.

Dietary restrictions aside, the only food I can think of that I will actively turn away is food where I can taste the butter. Butter may be an ingredient in many delicious things, but it tastes gross. There are other things I don't like, like milk and eggs, but I'll have them if I must.

I never thought I was a particularly indiscriminate eater, but you guys are really picky.
