I'm trying to find some sort of compromise that won't be viewed as partisan in any way.

How about naming them after the cities in which they service/reside? Seems pretty straight forward to me. Nyman International Airport etc..

We are now holding a vote on the Atlasian Airports Act. Senators have seven days to vote Aye, Nay, or Abstain.

It would have been nice to possibly decide on Hope and Liberty, but I'm fine if the Senate passes this version too.

I think this crook had something to do with the final vote occuring. There was advance warning of 24 hours of the final vote as well. If you guys don't acknowledge that and respond accordingly, there is littel that can be done accept to start the vote as scheduled. Tongue

Can I ask for this to be brought to a final vote?

Senators, however, have up to 7 days to vote.  Not 24 hours.  They have 24 hours from their vote to change it.  Once the 24 hour period after the 6th vote in favor or against has been passed, then the voting can be cut off early.

You guys wonder why nothing got done when I was PPT?  It's because the rules suck.  And I didn't feel like saying "to hell with the OSPR!"
Wink

Nay, by the way.

Section 1: Rules for Voting on Legislation
1. Once a senator calls for a vote on the Amendment(s) under consideration, per Clause 2 of Section 1 of this article, or once debate time expires, per clauses 3 and 4 of Section 1 of this article, the PPT shall open a vote on said legislation. This vote shall last for a maximum of seven (7) days during which time the Senators must vote. Any and all Senators who do not vote will be considered to have abstained.

Damn, I was too caught up in responding to the cries of "Why da final vote so soon" that I totally missed Dallas' inclusion of the 24 hour line. Historically a time hasn't been included in the opening post of the final vote. Usually it is listed in the Noticeboard via the listing of the date on which the current action ends. If you will check I put it as the 18th in there.

Of course while, you may have up to seven days to vote, it won't be pretty if you decide to take all seven. Evil In fact it would be nice if they took just seven minutes, alas we can't operate that quickly, even if I were to use the bayonet. Evil

Well first off you had the wrong OSPR. Tongue Don't feel bad Dallas did it again a few days ago.

There is actually a process for saying "to hell with the OSPR", its I beleive Section 8.

Well, not really.  Section 8 gives you certain rights to say to hell with the OSPR... but it requires the approval of the VP and a 2/3 vote, not including you, to do so... and then on top of that... it gives you no right to mess with article 5, which deals with voting on legislation.

But yeah, I think I always put the deadline in the announcements.  It gives people a quick glance when they're going to vote.

As for seven days... at least 6 senators have to vote the same way before you can cut short the seven days... at that point it's 24 hours.  If the total is 5-4.. you have to wait out the full 7 days.
