I urge the Senate to vote Nay on this motion, rejecting partisan hackery in the Senate.

I am changing my vote to nay.
While I think we should honor Walter Mondale by naming an important airport after him, and I will fight to keep the name from being changed, I think this at least deserves a fair hearing.
If we're going to take up frivolous business like this... I'm at least it's getting some attention from my colleagues.. so we can debate it, vote on it, and move on.

I'm going to vote Nay, hoping we can find a good solution but not spend too much time on this.

Nays lead 5-4 with Rowan not voting and 23 hours left to vote. Note that as along as Nays have 4 or more votes, the motion fails.

Also, to anyone saying the original bill was a waste of time... I would like to point out that there really wasn't much going on in the Senate. That inspired to me introduce quite a few bills around that time with the hope of keeping the Senate active.
I'm not saying this bill is any less valid than mine, but if you're going to criticize Snowguy's support of the previous bill and opposition to this based on the fact that it's a waste of time, I just think it's important to remember that there weren't really lots of bills being held up by mine.

Then lets not hold it up and just vote for it.

Only a few short hours remaining, I'll let Dallas close this one out. Though use my usually C-Span style post, please, Dallas.

Sorry for my tardiness. I just got out of work an hour ago and was having Internet problems (nasty storm on the south end of town.)
The motion has failed.
Ayes: 3 (bgwah, Antonio V, Kalwejt)
Nays: 5 (North Carolina Yankee, HappyWarrior, Snowguy716, AHDuke99, shua)
What if we were merely to number Airports or name them after adjectives instead of people? Like the "Liberty National Airport" or the "Hope National Airport"? (just as examples)

I actually like the Vice President's idea of naming them not after people. "Hope" and "Liberty", or something along those lines, shouldn't be too controversial and I imagine anyone who isn't hyper-partisan could back it.

Make it "Hope" and "Yes We Can!"
