Yes, I think 3 times or so after I was massively drunk after some outdoor party etc. and no bus was available, or no opportunity to sleep at a girl's or friend's place.

Anyway, it wasn't really "sleeping", because going to sleep at 4am in a car for about 4-5 hours is very uncomfortable ... Tongue

Too bad I had no VW-Bus.

I've only had one car and I never slept in it even for a moment.

Yes actually.

In the second semester of my freshman year in college we had one of those rare days in February when the temperature suddenly shot up to like 75 degrees during the day.  Well, of course the people in charge of the building kept the heater on, mostly because the temperature controls are from the age of the dinosaurs and the building became a sweatbox.  As a result I decided "hell f*** it" and went to sleep in my Ford Focus with the windows open a tiny bit on the top.  It was actually pretty comfortable.

Maybe when we were driving out for vacation when I was little (we rented an RV one year and my dad insisted on driving through the night one night to get to our campsite - I protested the use of the RV because it wasn't "real" camping, so I slept in my own tent once we got there), but other than that, no.

I've only slept in a car for about 2 hours in the middle of nowhere in Cherry County, Nebraska. Attempting to drive through the night to Wyoming.

Many times.  And borrowed cars and rental cars as well.  To be honest, I usually ended up getting out and sleeping on the ground or park bench nearby, if it wasn't raining or snowing.

Yes. Back in 2009 when I drove up to Notre Dame in Indiana for a college tour. Me and my friend slept in the car the night before we headed back to Long Island (where I lived at the time.)

I may be inferring the wrong thing here, but when I saw this, it instantly reminded me of a clip from Everybody Loves Raymond where Robert is talking to Amy's mom and accidentally says, "We hardly sleep" when they sleep together. Wink

I didn't own the car... it was for the SXSW festival in 2006... after one night I fled for a hotel.

Nope.  I always have options.  Most of the large all night parties I've been to were at my uncle's cabin (which is 10 minutes away while he lives in Louisiana)... so... it wasn't all that bad.

Cherry County is about as the middle of nowhere as the middle of nowhere can possibly get.

To answer the question, I have never slept in a car overnight, doubt I have slept more than an hour in a car (if that).

Once when I was on an overnight drive from New Orleans to Atlanta, I stopped to nap for about an hour at an Alabama rest stop. Never slept a full night in my car though.

Yes.  In the old days, when I would drive back and forth between different parts of the country, it was easier (and cheaper) to sleep in the car for the night rather than find a motel.
