1994:

Tweed: once again i am riddled with the task of retrograding my thoughts back to the foundation. i can no longer touch you with my bloodstained hands. it's all in the floor in puddles...in puddles on the floor.  though he is living, silently in moments, and forgiving relevance... it is in his heart he is holding and calling behind sadness of empty fields. it is in these moments of time well spent...in these moments of gravity, this time well spent, a look to heaven, sighing tears of angel's and a night sky...i will never travel brandishing a sharp tongue out of fear of my piercing my own heart.
Mikado: What the  are you babbling about?

(That Tweed post is composed entirely of lyrics from classic emo songs of the era.)

I change my writing style for no man.  actually, this isn't true, I haven't stirred up the gumption to write a typed academic assignment* without capitalizing the first letter of a sentence and adhering to other trivialities.  I plan to, though.  perhaps next semester.

*this is excluding some of the more useless (and un-graded) assignments I've had.  one that was notable had us write in 350 word paragraphs in response to a prompt.  the thing is actually hosted online, here, I'll get it for you.

ok, this one is one of the little things I'm proudest of in my almost 7 semesters now.  the prompt was:

you can imagine some of the things people write in response:

and so on.  here is my piece.

note: I made a few typos and have declined to add [sic] to the above.  fend for yourselves.

note 2: this has been a waste of time, I just realized I used proper grammar in the above.  damn.  ah, but here it is, I didn't on the last assignment:

my memory is failing due to alcohol abuse but it's still capable of being correct in spirit if not in fact.

1991

Simfan34: What is this thing- cellular phone!? Now I'm going to have people yapping all over the place, calling me when I want privacy when I'm on the golf course or in the car! Isn't it great when you come to a hotel and have the concierge say "there was a call for you, Simfan34"?

1981

Simfan34: Oh, how I am glad Juan Trippe is dead! Now he can't do any more damage. Before him, we got to cross the oceans on magnificent floating skyscrapers like the Normandie, and traveled the land by great trains. Now we're stuffed in metal cylinders and service is getting worse.

1978

Simfan34: You know, I long for the days where we didn't have that stupid boob tube and people had to actually go and read the news or listen to the radio for entertainment!

1948

Simfan34: Our society is totally degrading. The wonderful custom of calling cards is slipping away from us, no has a proper staff anymore, the middle class can't even afford a single maid, and hats are definitely declining! I really ought to move to Britain where they at least still live decently.

1928

Simfan34: Look at women today! I supported giving them the vote, but why does that mean they need to go and dress so oddly! And this radio thing! People will be able to say anything. No good can come of this.

1878

Simfan34: You know, I long for the days where we didn't have that stupid phonograph, and people had to actually go and listen to real music if they wanted music!

July 1518:

BRTD is moshing in the public square.

opebo: I say, why art thou throwing thine limbs hither and thither?*

BRTD: I do believe I've come down with some wretched illness that has forced to dance.

Cathcon: That's not how you dance!

-all of AF begins dancing-

and that's how this came to be.
