Welcome to MAMA!

MAMA has three key aims:

1. To ensure that centrist, center-left and center-right parties have a forum for discussion on mututal ideals;

2. To prevent fracturisation of the center.

3. To ensure moderate governance is given the best chance of survival in Modern Atlasia.

Membership is open to all centrists, center-leftists and center-rightists, and will be led by one representative of each group, which will vote on candidates so that no more then one MAMA member runs in any race.

The interim representatives for the wings of MAMA are:

From the Center-Left: Hughento
From the Center: Gustaf
From the Center-Right: HTMLdon

Elections for representatives will occur when necessary (ie, when we have more members).

Can I be a member from the Far-Center?  That sounds fun.

well, do you identify yourself as a dead-set centrist, or center-right? Smiley

Either way, welcome to MAMA.

Either way, welcome to MAMA.

I was thinking about using a 4th dimension, but whatever.  I'll join for now.

I'll join the center-left wing. We need a moderate alliance.

This is a great idea. I join, and I'll join the centre for now, since I think it fits me reasonably well. Smiley

Does this require being a member of a party?

If not, I am in. Put me down for extreme left moderate, or something.

No party membership necessary, but if you join you must remember that you will have obligations under MAMA, including not running against any MAMA members, and voting for MAMA members at least most of the time.

While I am not certain I can always fulfill all of the MAMA obligations - witness the D4 race, for example, where two moderates were technically on the ballot (myself and Hermit) - let me say on my own behalf that I am sympathetic towards MAMA's aims and wish them well.

two moderates were technically on the ballot, but you weren't. Two moderates were also running for practical purposes, but those don't include Hermit.

Bump!

And I think D4 is different, since Hermit wasn't really running. And you weren't on the ballot. Wink

OK, OK, Gus and Lewis, I wasn't technically on the ballot, so it technically didn't violate MAMA's rules. Smiley

So you're viewing Harry, Hermit and me as three moderates, then?

Sho'.
Moderate isn't the same as Centrist, right? Moderate is the opposite of Radical, so you can be a moderate Leftist or a radical Leftist, a moderate Republican or a radical Republican etc.
And Harry is a moderate Leftist.

I join to the center wing.

I see a seed of a new centrist party here.

Welcome, Huck.

Moderate in this sense means between the two parties, basically, Lewis. Harry isn't a moderate, in MAMA's eyes. Amos-are you sure you are a moderate, and that this is the group for you, and WMS-will you join?

(also could non-MAMA related discussion quieten down a bit-thanks Wink)

With the continuing deterioration in the friendly relationship between the two sides of the political spectrum, I will join the center left wing of the MAMA.  Let us renew the promise of Atlasia through a united center... with a leftist spin Smiley

Welcome to both Defarge and WMS and Huck. Smiley

Defarge, I didn't know much about you, but I took a liking to you when I saw Pete's senate ratings and then your corageous move in the election. This increases my respect even further. Smiley
