So he doesn't know what his own dick looks like?

With a name like that, it must be embarrasing to admit  Surprise

Lots of celebrities have been hacked and had their personal photos posted on Twitter, I'm sure that's what happened here. We know that a lot of people do not like Weiner, so there's clearly motivation for someone to do that.

Um, far more people accidentally post private messages publicly on Twitter every day than are hacked. How is "lots of people are hacked" sufficient to dismiss everything here?  That's absurd

Anyway, back to the issue at hand

http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0611/Weiner_show_alarms_Democrats.html

Anthony Weiner has never been a favorite of Nancy Pelosi's, and the Democratic leadership is, I'm told, not thrilled with a media blitz this afternoon that has dominated the news without answering questions about the notorious Weiner tweet.

"Watching Anthony Weiner's twitter and press blitz is like watching a Charlie Sheen meltdown. It's amusing, uncomfortable, and not necessary," a Democratic leadership aide (not from Pelosi's office) told me just now. "If Weiner really wants to get beyond this, he'll shut up and let Democrats get back to their Medicare message."

Take it down a notch, there's no need to get combative, I didn't say to just dismiss everything, I was saying that a lot of people are hacked and that it is not something that has never ever happened. This whole thing is really not that serious, anyway.

Ι doubt that apart from some political junkies anybody in the US is fascinated with the whole Weiner's weiner saga.

I only said it's absurd -- because it's not a substantive approach to the issue at hand and I stand by that.  You say "a lot of people are hacked" -- true, but a lot more people goof up.  Heck, Congressman Chris Lee also claimed he was hacked!

I think people are fascinated in it for the same reason people were fascinated in Chris Lee or any of these other sexual scandals or pseudo-scandals.

Weiner's not helping this fade into the niche of political junkies, he's booked like five (not joking) bigtime cable interviews just today to discuss the topic! He's doing everything in his power to make sure everyone in America knows about these allegations haha

Well, there is a reason why he is Chuck Schumer's pet.

Yup.  Of course, it's just as easy [and increasingly so] to poke giant hole's in Weiner's story

Honestly, he should go with my theory, and just tell people he was trying to send the Photo to his wife, and accidentally sent it to someone else.  Because he loves his wife and wants to keep the marriage fresh.  But I now really do think he was sexting with these girls, but there so far is no evidence he had any intimate physical relations with any other woman or man after he was married.  Also, if he was really hacked, twitter would have to put out a statement indicating that their network has been secured, otherwise other twitter users will publicly complain.

The Twitter CEO knows the real story, ask him!!!

Alternative Theory: Weiner was actually hacked and people cannot believe that perhaps, just this once, a politician is actually telling the truth.

I happened to turn on the TV in the middle of his interview with Rachel Maddow tonight, and one thing really jumped out at me: he can't deny that the picture is of him. So basically a member of the United States Congress is admitting he has taken at least one picture of his dick. I do expect the actual posting of the picture is yet another idiotic hoax that Breitbart has cooked up, but that's really information I did not need to know.

So Breitbart DM'd a porn star and the high school girl also?   The guy is being evasive as all hell and it is amazing how so many of you are giving him the benefit of the doubt.

Ι doubt that apart from some political junkies anybody in the US is fascinated with the whole Weiner's weiner saga.

Sure.  Nobody cares about this story.  That's why it has been on page 4 or so of the New York Post for the past few days, the top or one of the top stories on the NYC local news, (reluctantly) featured on the Daily Show and even on Nightline tonight.  If Leno and Letterman weren't in repeats this week, they'd be making multiple jokes about the story, too.  People care about Congressmen making asses out of themselves - which Weiner did, if not by actually sending the photo, by his obnoxious non-answers to simple questions.  Which leads to...

He's now saying that the picture might be of his crotch, but that he definitely didn't send it.

http://www.mediaite.com/tv/rep-weiner-i-cant-say-with-certitude-when-asked-if-twitter-picture-was-of-him/

This is going to get worse before it gets better.

Worst damage control EVER.

Here's how not to make a story go away - hold a press gaggle where you refuse to answer any actual questions and call a CNN producer who is asking for a simple yes or no answer to a simple yes or no question a "jackass".   And be super obnoxious while refusing to answer any questions.  That almost guarantees the story will go thermonuclear because now it's not only just about whether you sent the sexually suggestive photo, but also about the stonewalling and coverup.  And the media just loves stories about how a Congressman is trying to hide something from the media.

New York isn't the entire country.
And laughing with a story isn't the same thing as being fascinated with it.

New York is where Weiner's political fate will ultimately rest and once a political story reaches both the Daily Show and Nightline, it is a story that many Americans are fascinated with, whether you agree with it or not.

This is a big deal - such a big deal that Pelosi is peeved about it sucking the political air out of the Democrats' plans and strategy for the current session.

Maybe if Breitbart didn't have a clear history of deceit I'd have more of an incentive to believe him.

You act as if Weiner hasn't been completely incriminating himself.

I do like when arrogant people get their comeuppance though. I personally saw him berate a 70+ year old woman who had the temerity to disagree with him at some town hall last year.  It feels good seeing him squirm and try to fall back on: this is all part of some juvenile Weiner joke narrative...

Weiner should realize that its all over for him.

His buddies in the 'mainstream" (progressive) media are now calling him a "Republican."

Re-read what I wrote originally. I said that Weiner basically admitted he's taken pictures of his dick. I'm not defending him, I have no interest in defending a boorish fake progressive, but there's no way of telling whether it actually is a picture of his dick, nor is there any way of telling if he actually sent it or not. It's not like Chris Lee, where you could clearly see it was him. His behavior is bizarre and inexplicable, but it's not a smoking gun.

And forgive me if I'm sick of people giving Breitbart the time of day when he's blatantly made up stuff to get attention more than once before.

Would be funny if a Republican won a special here and they ended up carving up a downstate Republican and an upstate Democrat.

I mean, maybe he was drunk or something? Assuming the picture is legit, that's the only way I could really see him making such a strange series of decisions here.

Link

WOLF BLITZER, CNN: "Have you ever taken a picture like this of yourself?"

REP. ANTHONY WEINER (D-NY): "I can tell you this, that there are -- I have photographs. I don't know what photographs are out there in the world of me.

That begs the question of why he would take a picture of his crotch.
