"I am of doubtful morality.
What do you call being of doubtful morality?
Doubtful of the morality of others."

Probably something really poignant and deeper than that that was ruined by my limited Google-translate-augmented French.

Kind of surprised to see you endorse Richard Mourdock.  You seem fairly moderate.

Your re-elect Scott ad isn't coming up; I get a blue box with a question mark on it. However, if I click on it and hit view image or whatever, it opens up the website in a new window, so I'm not entirely sure there.

RP: I agree fully with the beginning message and a good chunk of the endorsements.

Scott: It works on my iPod, but not my Mac. Probably something on my end then.

Sad I don't like her all that much, but she'd certainly be better than Murphy (in my opinion)

I still wish Peter Schiff could run and win.

You don't like her, so you endorse her?

You're lucky: you don't have to live in Connecticut and listen to smarmy, slimy McMahon ads for two whole years. Gold Coast Republicans (and Democrats, for that matter) try to buy up political offices in this state like yachts or sports cars.

skip

I like her more than Murphy.

Like maybe half of em. And couldn't you just delete the Lingle one? The Linda one can cover both.

I can only agree with a quarter of your endorsements (49ers).

And all freedom endorsements? Even Rehberg, who's trying to knock off Tester (one of, if not the, most freedom-inclined Dem in the Senate?

Interesting reading from the book of darkness. Can't say I share the feelings, but I can get where you're coming from.

Hate to break it to, SJoyceFla, but that quote is from Pat Robertson, not Pat Buchanan. We have plenty of reasons to hate Robertson Tongue

The Alien and Sedition Acts were awful
John Adams made the Alien and Sedition Acts
Therefore, John Adams is awful

Logic.

Hasner is actually a genuine, sincere, honest man. I won't lie--I always pictured him as your cliche career politician, but has surprised me. I logged six or seven hours in his office today, and have been in every day this week. I have a strong feeling that he can beat Frankel and win the race, as we went over the Broward precincts today. I'll make a thread about whats going on later.

--skip--

Not knocking the man, but he wants to eliminate the UN and open up all waters for drilling, neither of which I could possibly support. And you're lucky; I'd love to be doing that, but since the Congressional races around here (Pinellas) are either "40-year Republican incumbent barely squeaks by; drops to 30 point victory over his previous 60 point one over Democratic opponent" or "Liberal Democrat in VRA district wins by 30 points". Best of luck to y'all though.

I would consider looking into a state house/state senate race. Less work, same amount of fun Wink
You have no idea how Pinellas state-level politics work... Mkay, so I live in a House district that's basically even, currently represented by Tea Party darling Jeff Brandes, who knocked off a long-term Dem two years ago. Now, Brandes has drawn a pretty strong D challenger (local lawyer), but may also jump into the State Senate race, which currently only has Jim Frishe (R) running, and of course if Brandes (whom I like) jumps into the race it'll be a proxy fight between Sens. Latvala and Thrasher (the latter of whom would be backing Brandes, and whom I dislike). So I can't start volunteering for the State House race because the Dem may run against the guy I like, and the R may not run, and I can't do State Senate because there's only one candidate in the race now, and if I volunteer for Brandes (who hasn't decided to run yet) it'd be supporting Thrasher. Good luck trying to follow that Wink

I like it so much, though I'm just assuming 'Southern Values' mean a preference for deep-fat-fried foods.

It means all sorts of values, like family, BBQ, football, working hard, relaxing hard, charity, small government, mashed potatoes, "small-town values" (holding the door open, sir & ma'am, helping old people, not spitting, not cussing), chicken, politeness, dumplings, home-cooked meals, fried chicken, and voting for the IB candidate.

Clarence: 50%-50%. Kerrey/Nelson/Navy>West/Romney/Stearns.

Some of them I like (Tester, Manchin, Flake, Amash, Bills, King, Nixon). Others I do not (Romney, Mourdeck, Brown, Allen).

Believing in the right of corporations to not be boycotted is 'supporting free speech' now? And I thought Citizens United was extreme.
