Conservative Democrat vs. Liberal Republican. The ultimate confrontation. Are there any states that either of them would hold for their party?
In my opinion, a very odd looking electoral map:

Senator Zell Miller (D-GA) 305 electoral votes
Senator Lincoln Chaffee (R-RI) 233 electoral votes

No way that either of these will get their party's nomination, but if this did happen, all liberals and almost all centrists would go for Chafee and all conservatives would go for Miller.

Here's what it would look like:

Republicans: Lincoln Chafee (RI)
Democrats: Zell Miller (GA)

I'm most conflicted about Alaska, Kansas and the Dakotas. But the rest of the map I'm pretty solid about.

Yes, DC goes for the GOP for the first time in their history. DC is one of, if not the most, liberal city in the country. It would go strongly for Chafee, and wouldn't hold for the Ds if Miller was the nominee.

I'd vote for Chafee, and I'm as liberal as you get.

Agree with that. Utah, Idaho and Wyoming also will fall, at least according to my map.

INDIANA IS NOT WINNABLE FOR DEMOCRATS, EVEN TED STEVENS CORPSE WOULD BEAT A DEMOCRAT THERE!!!!

now, being serious, I am not sure ID, UT and WY would vote democrat even with those candidates. Miller probably hates mormons.

lol, why do some democrats on here, have random orgasms of stupid hackishness? Why would Zell hate Mormons? because he's southern and white?

Stereotyping is fun. Roll Eyes

Business Owners in Nevada won't like an authoritarian like Chaffee...nor the strip club owners, or casino owners.

Chaffee still wins Sad

I wouldve voted Zell.

Zell would win DC.  Blacks are simply too partisan.

As an example, on the wikipedia page for George Wallace, Jr. it says that "Wallace lost the election in an upset to Everett by just 3,571 votes, less than 1%. It was largely believed that Wallace's loss was due partly to the shift of many African-American voters, particularly in Montgomery, to the newly drawn majority-minority 7th district which had been organized after the 1990 census in accordance with the Voting Rights Act."

(Later on the page it informs us that "In June 2005 he opened up the first day of the annual national convention of the Council of Conservative Citizens (CofCC), a conservative group that some critics describe as "white supremacist". This was not Wallace's first interaction with the CofCC; he gave speeches to the CofCC once in 1998 and twice in 1999. He has also appeared as a guest on The Political Cesspool, a white nationalist radio talk show that is affiliated with the Tennessee chapter of the CofCC.")

Who the Hell, and especially what mainstream conservative, calls Chafee an 'authoritarian'? This word that's just now entered your lexicon and that I've been railing against for years, I don't think it means what you think it means.

Why are you trying to rebrand yourself?

I wasn't aware that I was.

Who, and especially what mainstream atheist, believes in 'Hell'? This word that's just now entered your lexicon and the place that I've been railing against for years, I don't think it means what you think it means.

I'll take the Democrat in name only over the candidate who isn't even Republican in name. I think Miller wins, too.

No. Blacks are way too partisan for that.

This is 2004, when both still held office, and Chaffee was still a Republican.

Zell would get the Tea Party, Social Conservatives and blacks to join forces here. Game, Set, Match. Chaffee is too liberal for Indiana. Besides haven't you heard Lugar is getting Teablasted like Trey Greyson did in Kentucky by the son of a Paul.

I believe blacks would look out for their own interests, which Zell would not represent.

Not to mention that DC is the most liberal city in the country, and would go to whoever the liberal is. I don't see blacks being so partisan that they would vote against their interests.

I'm sure Chafee would launch an ad campaign aimed at blacks reminding them of the Democrats' history in the south, basically being segregationist until the mid-1970s. Chafee would attempt to link that past to Miller, whether or not it was true (which it isn't, Miller isn't a racist).

It doesn't really matter, anyway. With or without DC, Chafee still wins.

Alright, first of all the Tea Party didn't even exist in 2004. Second of all, blacks would not vote for a man who endorsed segregation when he ran for Congress in the '60s. Third of all, if Chafee is too liberal for Indiana, then how did Obama, who is more liberal than Chafee, win it? Fourth of all, Lugar could still win at this point. Fifth of all, there are numerous spelling and grammatical errors in your post.

I mean, if you just had inane outbursts like this once or twice, I could accept this, but you are a flat-out troll. Ignore-listed.

THANK YOU!
