Second and third could've happened in 1984.

I'm  honestly not sure map one is possible at any point.

Jimmy Carter, in 1976, if he was more able, he could pull an all-state landslide, but he almost lose election.

Maps one and three are possible in some alternate world with a very altered form of American politics. Map two is possible in 1984.

Regan was 3761 votes away from map 2 in 1984. Campaign more in both DC and Minneasota and you get map 3 so it's entirely possible.

If Nixon can win 90% of the black vote, he only needs about 25% of the white vote.

Map 1: The Republicans run Hitler as a candidate, or alternatively run no one at all

Map 2: The Democratic candidate eats a baby on live television

Map 3: The Democratic candidate eats a baby on live television and then makes racist remarks

Map 2: McCain vs Edwards, we find about his affair a week before the election.

Or Popular Republican Incumbent vs. Edwards in the same situation. Incumbent is kind to DC. Map 3
