I watched most of the first season and after that watched a few episodes every now and then. When the final season started I read the episode summaries on the seasons I missed to catch up. It's an interesting plot but more in a casually-read-about-it-on-Wikipedia way then a watch-40-hours-of-video-about-it-as-it-slowly-unravels-around-endless-character-based-subplots way.
I thought the last half-dozen or so episodes were fantastic though.
