Recently one of the bones of contention in the intelligence overhaul bill was the issuance of drivers licenses by about a dozen states to illegal aliens.

A few months ago, California Govenor Arnold Swartznegger reversed the policy of his predecessor, and stopped the issuance of drivers licenses to illegal aliens (the California public was very very supportive of this move).

So, the question becomes, why in the hell did Sen. Lieberman and his cohorts support issueance of drivers licenses to illegal aliens?

Unfortunately, you will probably see some posters dogmatically protesting in favor of illegal aliens and their 'rights.'

What I have been saying in a number of posts here lately is that it is time the Democrats 'clean house,' much as they did in 1948 (when they expunged the communists and their fellow travelers).

Democrats need to reject the out of control homosexual lobby.

Democrats need to reject the intolerant anthiests.

Democrats need to reject the defenders of illegal immigration.

Democrats need to reject the hoplaphobes.

Democrats need to reject those who would impose quotas on our country.

In short, Democrats need to kick out the loony tune left, and listen to sensible America.

I don't see what the driver's license issue has to do with an intelligence overhaul.

Not many. Most Republicans on this board are 14 and work at McDonalds, thus giving them an impressive view of economic issues.

As long as they are paying taxes they should be entitled to any government service.

I'm 16, and if I was going to do fast food, I'd pick Burger King.

They're not here legally. I don't see what paying taxes has to do with it, since a huge portion of the population pays almost nothing in taxes.

What part of "illegal" don't you understand?

I don't see what the driver's license issue has to do with an intelligence overhaul.

The terrorists on 9/11 had multiple drivers licenses even though they were at the time of the attack illegally in this county (their visas had expired).

Without state issued identification, they would have had problems in implementing their plans.

They shouldn't be "illegal". Anyone who wants to come to this country and work should be able to without having to go through the near-impossible immigration system. To deny good hard-working people that right is un-American.

But with driver's licenses we would be able to track down future terrorists.

It's called property rights. If someone wants to work in your house, are you okay with that to?

Nice use of a completely fallicious analogy. Nobody owns the United States. I own my house.

Wrong. Citizens of the United States own the United States.

Technically you're right. Only governments "own" things.

If people do not own things, governments do not own things.

And who even allows the existence of government?

Forget that. Do governments make decisions, or do individual people make decisions?

Do governments think, or do people think?
