Since Hermit deleted himself and is no longer a registered voter, all votes for him go to the 2nd preferences.

I believe since he 'died', his votes are still counted for him... think Mel Carnahan (that was the dude, right?  that one Missouri senate candidate?)

Mel Carnahan? Atlasia has never had a region or district known as Missouri or a Senator Carnahan elected from it Wink

Anyway, that is real life and techincally all votes for Mel Carnahan were counted as votes for his wife Senator Jean Carnahan who declared candidacy soon after his death. So techincally, all votes for Hermit are being counted as votes for WMS due to preferential voting, besides the Supreme Court ruled that votes for unregistered candidates do not count and go to the next preference (Case #1-001: Harry vs. M)

No, actually, Mel's votes weren't counted for Jean. The seat was declared vacant, and Gov. Holden appointed Jean to fill the vacancy. That's why she had to run again just 2 years later in 2002 in a special election to fill the remaining 4 years.

The voters knew in advance that Jean would be appointed if Mel won the race, but Mel's votes weren't counted for Jean directly.

Indeed, and I fully expect Super to win.  However, usually Republicans and right leaning centrists are the first to vote in the district with leftists slowly trickling in.  The fact that Super hasn't gained a substantial lead at this point concerns me because I didn't vote for Bulldog thinking he was going to win Smiley

NEWSFLASH
Gabu, Democrat of Washington, has pulled ahead 5-4-2 in D5, but it is tied when Preferential Voting comes into play.
Depending on EarlAW's situation, The Bulldog his tied if his vote counts, down by 1 if it doesn't. True Democrat is up one if it does, tied if it doesn't.

Welcome back to our coverage. We now go out to Jackson, Mississippi for a special report.

"Many in the media have begun to call District 4 for WMS. With Preferential Voting, yes, he does have a 5-1 lead, but that is hardly insurmountable for the Senator. Active voters with Democratic avatars are still in line at the polls. In Georgia, both Democratic Hawk and Q counties are favored to go in Harry's column, and Nclib will help Harry do well in North Carolina. Then, there is the Mississippi factor. KatieG and Matt both have Republican avatars, but Harry always does well in his home state, and among voters with different political beliefs. Amos in North Carolina could concievably go Harry using Preferntial Voting. However, Harry is not out of it by any means. And remember, Republicans usually vote first. Back to you, Akno."

Thanks for that. Currently, Hermit, who has been missing for several days, is actually tied for the lead.

Akno all of Hermit's votes go to their second preference since he has deleted himself. All Hermit votes have the second preference of WMS. So currently it is 6-2 WMS when you count Hermit second preferences. I would expect you to report fairly Akno. These are two problems you have yet to spot in your reporting.
