I don't know alll the ins and outs of Polish politics, but I like Palikot's ideas and I dont really like the other parties, so my vote goes to him.

Platforma Obywatelska - PO. Apparently a reasonable center-right party.

Eh, it appears to be a guiding principle of Polish politics that every party has to have a prominent member go off on an antisemitic rant.

Platforma Obywatelska - PO. Apparently a reasonable center-right party.

Wrong. PO started back in 2001 as a stalwart neoliberal party, becoming, under Tusk, more and more a big tent party, interested only in keeping power. Recent switches can confirm that.

Well, you're the expert. I'm apparently stuck in the past. Wink

The problem is that we don't have a real, viable centre-right party. PO transformed from club of a neoliberal fanatics to a bib tent opportunists. PiS... do I really need to mention this?

PJN had some decent chance to fill this void but (I'm hardly surprised) they blew it away. Now they are fighting not for reaching 5% threshold to have seats in next Sejm, but rather for reaching 3%, that would give them a donations.

So what we have is: a centre-left mainstream party (SLD), big tent opportunists (PO), far-right nuts (PiS) and a political corporation (PSL).

So it seems, although they have become a big-tent party, the PO is still the one party which is more likely than the other parties to turn into a center-right party again. Maybe if they suffer a defeat in an election they might again move a bit more to the right, with a new leadership and a new program.
