With gas prices climbing due to the war in Syria, Senator Shua introduced a bill in the Senate to eliminate almost half of the Department of Energy as well as regulation that prevents off shore drilling and makes it much easier for a business to obtain permits for oil, natural gas, and coal drilling on Atlasian soil. Shua stated that “The dramatic climb in energy prices and drop in the markets is a wakeup call. We cannot afford to be dependent on foreign energy.”
Senator ShuaAtlasian and French air forces took out 2 Iranian tanks and severed the Iranian infantry division supply depot in northwest Syria, the first direct fighting between NATO and Iran in Syria. Syria forced have fully retaken the southern part of the country while the northeast has been taken under control by rebel forces. The heavy fighting is in the northwest Syria where Iranian troops had arrived by plane to help retake the area of the country. Lebanon is now openly trading weapons with the rebels in Syria expressing their support in taking down the regime.

Senator YankeeThe Senate passed the Polnut-Inks plan 67-30 and was signed into law immediately by President Polnut. “With this bi-partisan support, we can begin a great economic recovery that will lead to an economic boom. I am confident we are heading in the right direction again.” –President Polnut
President PolnutGovernor Winfield met with STC leaders on a two day trip to STC controlled Syria. Upon his return Winfield expressed great concerns. “Right now there is chaos, there are terrorist groups exploiting this chaos, and the people are losing their will to fight because frankly, the current law and order is anarchy, and may not be better than what al-Assad is offering. The UN peacekeepers are doing nothing because frankly they can’t, they don’t have the ability to and even if they had the order, they don’t have the weapons to help with law and order. If we don’t assist with rebuilding this new Syria, we will end up in the same cycle. It is critical the UN examines its role because right now it is wasting funds to do nothing. They need help policing, the need help protecting government buildings, they need help establishing a rule of law and order, they need help opening up ties to the west to start an economic recovery. Winning this war is not enough.” –Governor Winfield. Winfield unveiled a plan he asked the President to take to the UN to address these concerns he said was addressed by the STC and civilians.
