I was really impressed with Obama's magnanimousness in appointing Hillary Secretary of State.  He must have had to do something major to make it up to Michelle--it's obvious Michelle hates Hillary with a passion.

I think Hillary's done an excellent job.  My general opinion of her, however, is more mixed.  Her vote for the Iraq War will always be a black mark against her. She's far too intelligent to have believed the war was a good idea. I didn't like her book "Living History" much either.  Her statement in the opening chapter that "The United States had saved the world from fascism..." in WWII is completely outrageous.  One wonders what the Soviet Union and Great Britain, among others, were doing during the war.  "The United States had helped to save the world from fascism..." would have been historically accurate.  The book is completely sanitized and politically correct--although that's to be expected from someone running for president.  But it's still frustrating because she's clearly a very intelligent person and it would be fascinating to know what she really thinks and feels about things.  Her description of the Lewinsky episode is clearly designed to elicit the maximum amount of sympathy possible for her.

Mild FF. I like her alot more then I did in 2008, she seems like a nice person. All she wants is to get a grandchild, it seems. She has been a decent SOS, nothing too memorable, like Kissinger, but above averedge.

Kissinger was not a memorable SoS? I would have argued that he was one of the most notorious SoS's of all time.

No, not at all. Kissinger IS the most memorable. I meant she was like Kissinger. Should of put a . instead of , in the sentence.

I used to hate her, but she really is a good SoS. Even conservative family members of mine have come around to like her.

Agreed, generic.  I really haven't come across many on either side of the spectrum that think she's anything other than a good SoS.  I mean, sure, people still call her a bitch.......but an effective bitch.  Smiley

Lots of love here -- what are her successes?  She comes off as professional and informed, and has a nice ability to call people out at the right time and in the right way, but what has she done?

I think she'd be doing a lot better with a different president, TBH.  It doesn't seem like she and Obama are on the same page much of the time, and when they are, it's not good.

Should be President. It'd be nice to have an actual Democrat with balls as President instead of one who bends over backwards and caves into Republican requests 110 percent of the time. Obama is more concerned with getting Republicans to like him than he is about leading. Hillary knows the Republicans hate her and she wouldn't care or try to appease them, but then again, she is a bitch, and as Tina Fey said, "Bitches get stuff done."

I'm so proud to display my "Don't blame me, I voted for Hillary" bumper sticker each day that Obama is in office.

Quite positive as SoS, except for trying to get CFK re-elected by playing along with her revanchist trolling on the Falklands. Definitely not a centrist, and not the most pleasant of individuals.

Overall: FF as SoS.

Well, it's hard to judge an SoS on tangible accomplishments until we have a retrospective view or if they've been on the job for more than one term. Perception is the important factor here, in terms of competency, diplomatic style, communication skills etc. For one thing the Arab revolts will have to be digested before we can really judge whether we've acting in our best interests or not.

She has done a great job so far, I might even consider her one of the best SOS's

I feel bad for her in a way because she does most if not all the foreign policy work for Obama, it makes me wonder why Obama selected her anyway
