It's a shame there is nothing about Bachmann in the article.

Well, just wait another week or 2, then we'll have all the filings.

...

BTW, Obama doesn't seem to have problems with grass-roots donors.

As of midnight yesterday, Obama had 493.697 donors for the quarter.

Herman Cain Hauls In $2.46M In Fundraising, ‘No Debt’

Former Godfather's Pizza CEO Herman Cain is a grassroots sensation on the 2012 presidential campaign trail. Now we know what that looks like as a dollar figure: Cain brought in $2.46 million in campaign contributions, a number the campaign tells TPM it expects to see rise to closer to $2.48 when all the final reporting is done.

"It's not Mitt Romney money, it's not [President] Obama money, but we're excited," spokesperson Ellen Carmichael told TPM late Friday night.

Cain, wealthy from his experience running Godfather's as well as other successful business enterprises, has put in some of his own cash as "seed money" for the campaign, Carmichael said. But she said that the amount Cain has contributed pales in comparison to the $2 million or so former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman gave his own campaign, which reported just over $4 million in total fundraising today.

I expect that Obama raised about 60-75 Mio. in the quarter for him and for the DNC.

I guess it will be about 50 Mio. for his re-election campaign and 25 Mio. for the DNC.

Obama had 35 fundraisers this quarter, so I guess the average haul for each of these events was about 1 Mio. - which makes about 35 Mio. from fundraisers.

Obama also had 500.000 contributors in the quarter, who made 660.000 contributions.

That was an average amount of 180$ per donor.

I assume that this amount has decreased from 2007 mostly because of the economy and because the motivation in 2007 to contribute to the Obama campaign was much bigger.

So I estimate that each donor donated about 50-80$ to the Obama campaign.

This makes about 25-40 Mio. $ from online donors.

Put together, fundraisers and online donors will have contributed about 60-75 Mio. $

More numbers out today:

Former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney raised $18.25 million over the past three months, a sum likely to put him head and shoulders above his rivals for the 2012 Republican nomination in the dash for cash.

All of the money Romney raised is for the primary race; he ended June with $12.6 million in the bank. Romney raised more than half of his total for the entire quarter during a single call day in Las Vegas in May.

Romney’s total is short of the $23.5 million he raised in the first quarter of 2007 — a sum seeded by roughly $2.5 million of his own money. He did not make any personal contributions during this reporting period, although he has not ruled out doing so during the campaign. In the 2008 race, Romney donated $44.5 million of his own money to the effort.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/the-fix/post/mitt-romney-raises-1825-million/2011/07/05/gIQAw4RzzH_blog.html

Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich will report raising approximately $2 million in the second fundraising quarter of the year and ending the month of June with $225,000 in the bank, POLITICO has learned.

But in a steep obstacle to Gingrich’s comeback hopes, his campaign remains about a million dollars in debt. It will be a struggle for Gingrich to put his balance sheet in the black and fund the kind of operation traditionally required to compete in Iowa, where he has indicated he’ll attempt to turn his campaign around.

Gingrich supporters acknowledge that his debt represents a serious financial challenge, though they note that the Republican has paid down about 10 percent of $1.2 million in invoices since June 9, when most of his senior political staff resigned.

Fred Karger Releases Fundraising Total

By Lucas Grindley

Karger will report 8 Mio. $ raised during the last three months, but, “Now the fundraising begins,” he said.

The openly gay candidate is planning an event at the end of July in Beverly Hills at the home of local realtor Michael Libow, and tickets range from $100 to $2,500.

Other events in Karger’s home state are in the works in San Francisco and San Diego, plus in Chicago and New York. He has been holding fundraisers, with recent events in Sacramento and Laguna Beach, Calif.

OK, that is about 14 Mio. $ more than I expected.

When did Bachmann actually get in the race?  Wasn't it in a debate held in early June?  She wouldn't have actually had that much time to raise $ before the end of the quarter, so she might not have that much to report.

Well, there's also her quarterly report for her US House committee coming out and this will be the main thing to watch IMO.

WASHINGTON -- Minnesota Republican Congresswoman Michele Bachmann will report having raised almost $4 million in the second fundraising quarter, CBS News reported Thursday, citing a source close to the presidential candidate.

Bachmann has raised $2 million in the past two and a half weeks. The three-term congresswoman also transferred $2 million from her congressional account, the source said.

Bachmann kicked off her presidential campaign on June 27 in her hometown of Waterloo, Iowa. She must report her second-quarter fundraising totals by Friday.

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, who is spending the summer weighing a presidential run, announced her political action committee raised about $1.7 million during the first half of 2011, leaving her with $1.4 million in the bank.

Ms. Palin’s campaign said it spent about $1.6 million during the first half of 2011. The committee said it raised more than 36,700 contributions from more than 24,000 donors. During the same period in 2009, SarahPAC raised $730,000.

Santorum raised only 600.000$ !!!

Although Santorum keeps up a frantic travel schedule between New Hampshire, Iowa and South Carolina, the former Pennsylvania senator spent just $353,232 from April through June. He ended the quarter with $229,114 on hand.

Obama has 10 Mio. more cash-on-hand than all of his 11 GOP rivals combined (incl. Sarah Palin's 1.4 Mio. $ and Huntsman's estimated 3 Mio. cash-on-hand.

Obama has 37 Mio. $, while the 11 Republicans have 27 Mio. $ - of which 95% or so will be spent during the primaries.

That further means Obama will start his General Election Campaign with at least a 150 Mio. $ to zero advantage over the Republican nominee in April 2012.

My understanding is that $ for the primaries can continue to be spent up until the national convention, even if the nomination has been mathematically clinched well before that.

Yeah, but they are going to spend almost all their money for the primaries to win them, right ?

"Huntsman entered the race late enough in the second-quarter period that he doesn’t have to file with the FEC until the third quarter."

http://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/huntsman/52110513-188/million-huntsman-campaign-quarter.html.csp

Ahh, that`s the reason why I don't find anything about Huntsman for the 2nd quarter.
