On a serious note, something I noticed was you had Easter Monday, which may be the tradition in Europe. Round here though, we celebrate our Easter on Sunday. Perhaps go on recess Easter Weekend?

Perhaps it would be prudent to include in the bill a provision giving the Speaker of the Assembly or the Governor the authority to call an emergency session during a holiday?

Sounds good. Does anybody have any suggestions on requiring a quorum for a vote taken during an "emergency session"? 4 votes? Or 5? (Although this could change if we shrink the Assembly down to 3).

I think four votes should be required to form a quorum. After all, we don't want the Assembly to engage in official business while some members are still on vacation.

I would like to introduce the following amendment:
Quote from: Amendment to the Mideast Assembly Public Holiday Bill
The Mideast Assembly Public Holiday Bill shall be amended to read:
1. The Mideast Assembly shall be in recess during the following periods:
The Easter Friday and the following Saturday, Sunday, and Monday
The 4th July
The 24th, 25th, and 31st December
The 1st January
2. The Governor of the Mideast and the Speaker of the Mideast Assembly shall each have the authority to call into session an emergency session of the Mideast Assembly.
a. The Mideast Assembly shall not conduct official business during an emergency session unless a quorum of three members is first reached.

Can you change the quorum to 3? I mean if we have a crisis and two guys are on vacation that would prevent us from actually implementing something important enough to have an emergency session for.

I suppose as long as three members are still required to pass a bill, it doesn't really matter how many members are present during the debate over that bill. I'll change it.
