I've been looking through some old threads from around 2004, and there was a poster called CTguy who often personally insulted other posters. It's kind of amazing he was considered a horrible troll and banned considering what we'd had to put up in the last two years and how long it took for a certain person from Bakersfield and Libertas to get the ax. Not to mention that wormyguy and ghost white are still here too.

Also kind of amazing when you consider that Deano in 2006 was banned for just being an obnoxious hack.

It is interesting that when you google Kyle Mercado that the Atlas is the number 1 hit.......since I doubt we'll ever move out of first place not using 'he who cannot be named' makes little sense, eh?

Yes I do, kind of blurs to together with that other shrill D-CT (nomorelies?), and I think there was another that spammed news articles. I read this forum a lot during the 04 general election season (when I joined), but somehow have only posted a thousand times since then. Born lurker. :/

Presumedly- nomorelies had many guises.  A Kerry pollster, a Vietnam vet from Florida, misscatholic, then also I think a Brit.  I am sure that this poster is still here in some or many forms.

I do remember and agree. CTGuy was a bit condescending, but nothing compared to plenty of other banned (or unbanned) posters.

He never said anything like "I would love to see your head paraded on a pike" (actual Einzige quote.) Yes he was abrasive, often insulting and quite rude, but no worse than Phil or many other unbanned posters. Not saying Phil should be banned of course, my point is moreso that the aforementioned Bakersfield poster basically went to where he did a hundred times over before he was banned, and wormyguy is still here despite "haha, you're probably ugly and autistic" being his stock retort to anyone who disagrees with him. The standards have fallen through the floor here. Makes you wonder how long the unnamed one from Bakersfield or Libertas would've survived in 2006 though...
