This is such an awesome thread - I'm not a fan of  the nondescript new title, since I went looking for these presidential election maps and didn't even recognize it even though it was stickied at the top of the page. It should say be "election result maps by congressional district" or something like that.

I'm glad you're enjoying the thread.   Smiley  And thanks for the title feedback, I was wondering why people had discovered this thread so late.  Wink  lol

Oh cool, an old one.  Was that the same third party in those WI and MN seats?

Not quite, Minnesota had the Farmer-Laborer party (before they merged with the Democrats) and Wisconsin had the Progressive Party.  Smiley

I should have asked this sooner, but does anyone have the 1982 map for California?  I only have part of it.

Is it just me, or does those 1936 boundaries in the lower hudson river valley of New York look a lot like the new map drawn by the courts for the next decade in that same area?

I was making a map for the house elections of 1920, and have run into a stumbling block. Does anyone have access to the maps for the missing states? Thanks in advance!

I'm trying my hardest to find the NC maps for you!

The historical maps I downloaded from the Legislature's website only go to 1941 Sad

I also found this map, but its from the 1870's....

Ok, here's NC in the 1920s!

I compiled individual distrcit results from a site called Our Campaigns into this map. I couldn't find county results for districts 2 or 3, so I made an educated guess; the districts I have for them are most consistent with other historical NC maps I've seen.

This map is truly fascinating. It's stunning how different was the repartition of population at that time.

Thanks! I was able to use the data on that site to find the districts for Tennessee as well.

Yeah, although much of the differences stemmed from the resistance of rural legislators to redistricting. Most of those districts you see were severely under or overpopulated, even by 1920, not to mention a decade later.

There was no restriction to the discrepancy in population between districts at that time ?

Not until 1964.

Chet Edwards surviving that year was pretty incredible. He had a considerable amount of new territory and his new district was 71% Bush.

As for the others...

Here's a comprehensive table of Pres-by-CD for 2000, 2004 and 2008 from the Swing State Project. This may help you with making 2004 maps, Fuzzy.

You're in luck Fuzzy! I have the results mapped for all states with the notable exception of Georgia.

Edit:That link won't be useful on that end due to the results for Georgia being listed as under the 2006 lines.
