I'd be interested in seeing what's possible of 1964 pres.--even if without shading. This would be at least at-large states, CD's made up of whole counties, and areas obvious for one party by county results.

I suppose this is the right thread...where could I find a map of notional 2010 results with 2012 boundaries?
You mean gubernatorial and senatorial elections by congressional district?
No...I mean 2010 House results by 2012 House boundaries. For instance, here's the result of the 2005 British election using 2010 boundaries (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:2005UKElectionNominalMap.svg
).
[/quote
This seems quite difficult due to US elections being more candidate driven. Jim Matheson, for instance, considerably overperforms his district's lean, but his district has been chopped up. So the notional Utah results will have a fairly weak correlation with the final results.

I understand that some districts will have very 'weird' results, but I still think a notional map could be a very useful tool.

As totally awesome as the Presidential results maps are, where can the raw data be found? Actual votes by district?

I'm compiling a spreadsheet of Presidential results by CD as far back as can be done, so, basically any and all if there's a practical way to do that . . .

I don't have the exact county-by county results (my Atlas account expired), so I just kind of guessed the results based on what I had:
As you can see, there are a few districts I'm not sure about.
^^^And thanks the KenDB, there are less now.

can you do an urban closeup of the 1964 results?
From the looks of it, it seems that Goldwater did best in the LA and Chicago metro areas. From the looks of it, it seems that he won in the SoCal:
The Antelope Valley seat (Ed Reinecke)
The Pasadena/Glendale seat (H.A. Smith)
The San Gabriel Seat (Glenard Lipscomb)
The Long Beach seat (Craig Hosmer)
The Trans SD-OC seat (Jim Utt)
and in IL it looks like he won:
The Northwest seat (John Anderson)
The exurban seat (Charlotte Reid)
The DuPage district (John Erlenborn)
The Northeast seat (Bob McClory)
The Southwest Cook Seat (Ed Derwinski)
The Cicero/Riverside Seat (Harold Collier)
