WV might actually go Communist--many West Virginians vote on economic issues and the Communist is the only economically liberal candidate.

Communism will work only if the proletariat will revolt, it does not work in the current system that ensures the burgoise-right.

I can't understand how so many people can be prepared to vote Communist.

I'd vote libertarian, of course. The Communist candidate could never win. I had to think a little while, but the libertarian would win in a landslide, if the platforms were the least bit known. The fascist would not allow freedom of religion, the right to bear arms, freedom of speech...few true conservatives could contemplate voting fascist.

Ah, but the fascist would remove those freedoms in order to pander to the conservative.  He might take away the freedom to practise Islam, but he would actually favor the majority Christians, particularly the born-agains.  Hitler didn't seem to give the Catholic or Lutheran Churches any trouble did he?

As for freedom of speech - well that would be just to keep the 'liberal press' from having undue influence and to protect the American public from pornography, etc.  And as for the right to bear arms - an astute fascist would claim to be for it and then take away the right after the election, if necessary.  Did Hitler take away arms from the solid Jew-hating patriotic German yoemanry?

I think plenty of fascist positions have proven to be popular with the majority of Americans, as long as they hurt only groups the majority of Americans despise.

Actually Hitler was very anti-christian. The SS destroyed churches and threw Priests and Nuns into concentration camps. He dispised Christianity and what it stood for. I would direct you to this site: http://answers.org/apologetics/hitquote.html as well as this one: http://www.bede.org.uk/hitler.htm and this one: http://www.nationalreview.com/shiflett/shiflett012102.shtml

Well yes a fascist does say to protect rights before the election but only afterwards does he take them away but I consider the American people smart enough to see through any fascist smoke screen.

Communist/Fascist

seriously, the Republican fascist would win, because people enough people hate social progressives.  I can imagine people in the South turning out in DROVES to vote for the fascist.
I can understand BRTD and nclib, but you voting for Communist!!! This really turns me away from Democrats...

Is the poll about guys who are openly Communist and Fascist or just about candidates who are Communist and Fascist, but who never tell that in the public?

Secretly fascist would win. In the case of openly fascist/communist candidates Libertarian would win. No doubt. The Fascist would win few Southern States, if he was the moderate, religious fascist. The Communist would win only in D.C.

I guess I should say I'd vote Libertarian if only he could beat the fascist. Of course I doubt a fascist would do too well in Minnesota, we'd be a tossup between the communist and Libertarian. But if they were running neck and neck and electorally only the Libertarian could beat the fascist, I'd reluctantly vote for the Libertarian so he could hopefully get an electoral majority and beat the fascist.

The communist would have less than 40%, the fascist would have less than 1%. It would be a total Libertarian landslide, with that candidate winning 500 EVs.

Communist less then 1% Fascist less then 2% and the Libertarian would have 97%

'enlightened communism'? There is such a thing? The only way communism wouldn't be fascist is if it was entirely voluntary, which isn't gonna happen. Communism has to be forced on people, which is why it doesn't work in the long run.

Libertarian is too easy. If you said Anarchist instead that would make for an interesting election!

You've neglected the slums in northern France that vote Communist in local elections decade in and decade out.
