Casey Anthony was found not guilty today of murdering her 2 year old daughter, Caylee.

Do you believe that Casey Anthony actually committed this heinous crime?

Please vote and discuss if you wish.

I'm sure she probably did, but I could not see myself voting 'guilty' due to the severe lack of evidence. To say nothing of the death penalty.
This pretty much.

Undecided, since I tried as much as possible to avoid aying attention to this case.  On the basis of what little I know, she probably did it, but not beyond a reasonable doubt.

I would say "Did what?"

Murder her child?  No.

Commit aggravated child abuse?  No.

Was criminally responsible for the death of her child (granted, based on circumstantial evidence)?  Yes.

Was she charged with the third?  No.

She was undeniably responsible for the child's death, and deserved a long time in jail. However, given the poor prosecution, I think they should have made the charges a bit less ambitious; better something than nothing (well, she was convicted of lying to police).

Do we really need to let this circus enter our "Constitution and Law" forum?

A better topic would be a discussion on the idea of reasonable doubt in general.

This is touching on the difference between real courts and the court of public opinion, so as moderator, I'm in no rush to cut-off discussion.
