As defined by self-identified high school identity, with generic Republican and Democratic Presidential candidates in a 50/50 year.

On the one hand, academia is very Democratic and mostly consists of nerds, while jocks are presumably are presumably significantly more likely to serve in the military, which is Republican-leaning. Jocks may feel more "privileged" due to their high school experiences, which may push them towards conservative politics, and vice versa for nerds. Jocks are probably also more socially conservative. Countering this, nerds are likely significantly whiter and higher income (especially in later life).

My guess is that jocks are about 55% Republican and nerds about 55% Democratic, but that nerds were once considerably more Republican (e.g. the 1940s). Although, this sort of implies that the non-nerds, non-jocks are about 50/50 (assuming jocks and nerds are about equal in size, which may not be the case). Does this seem reasonable?

Jocks are 90% Republican due to conservative politics that attact them. Nerds are 60% Democratic and 32% Libertarian. The 7% remaining ditch the Republican party due to being hostile to education.

Jocks--65% Republican
Nerds--80% Democrat

However, the TRUE preppies steal the show--they're about 85% GOP.

Disagree completely on preppy people.  The top 25 colleges on average are easily 70/30 Dem.  Preppy people are also much more likely to live in/have grown up in the urban Northeast or California.

Nerds- 90/10 Dem (two-party vote, there would be a lot of libertarians)
Jocks- 75/25 GOP
Preps- 60/40 Dem

Other high school cliques:

Secular Volunteering Groups- 60/40 Dem
Church Youth Group- 70/30 GOP
Future Business Leaders of America- 75/25 GOP
Future Farmers of America- 60/40 GOP (conflicting cultural vs. economic views)
LGBT Organizations- 80/20 Dem
Debate Team- 55/45 Dem (very libertarian/pacifist)
Young Republicans- 80/20 GOP (some kids joined because their parents pushed them)
Young Democrats- 80/20 Dem (same issue here)
Medical/Nursing- 55/45 Dem

I'd probably say it's something like:

Nerds:
38% Democratic
21% Third Party
12% Republican
29% Not Stupid Enough to Vote

Jocks:
100% "Fook this Imma gonna get da krunk!"

Nerds go to the polling place and pretend to be legally blind so that they can have the voting machine speak the ballot to them in Mandarin Chinese.

Thinking about these various varieties of repulsive scumbags making up the depressing society back in the Bad Place had me feeling mildly ill, but then I reminded myself - I have escaped!

To be more exact, jocks and nerds actually both grow up to be professionals and businesspersons at higher rates than everyone else, so I would expect both groups to lean GOP.  Nerds are much more likely to vote in primaries and to support third parties.

True preppies would probably still make up a minority of top college attendants. Also, I doubt the top colleges are close to 70/30 Dem into adulthood (if I hadn't made myself clear, my question is about the clique one belonged to in high school, regardless of how old one is now).
