He didn't deserve to be banned IMO. He wasn't a bad guy and I don't think he would have created other socks. Maybe some level of forgiveness is necessary in these cases.

If the ban is only temporary, I don't see what's wrong with it.  He'll be back soon enough.  Dave gave me a ban under the table for a month in 2009 for this account and I took it in stride.
