and National Treasure falls into the MacGyver category (correctly guess a whole paragraph of esoteric crap with the hint of a single letter)…which bores me also.

does that help?

No, I just find it humorous that one who seems to be certain of the meaning of:

"And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads."

would say such a thing.

Visiting the Capitol for the first time earlier today:

That's an impressively large white dome; filled with conflicting ideologies, partisan hackery, delusions of grandeur, and an awful lot of hot air.

Wonkish if it wasn't for Jesus Christ you'd be getting a sh!tload of a lot more posts modded since that's the reason I'm not combing through your posts looking for ones to report like I used to do before I was filled with the Holy Spirit. Quit whining.

I think that is a dual entry for the absurdity and comedy instit.

For me, it's just a new way to get worked up over data, plus I get the pleasure of having the last word on this discussion until sundown tomorrow.

The idea of someone speaking a dead language, especially, Latin (or even claiming to speak it) is inherently hilarious to me. If you don't find it so I apologise.

I personally have a great admiration for people able to speak dead languages, especially Latin.

Learning to speak a dead language seems like the very definition of a waste of time, but different strokes...

I'm told it's helpful if you're getting into archaeology, law, medicine, etc.  Other than that, yeah, it's pretty useless.

I took four years of Latin in HS.  As for practicality, it did help on the verbal section of the SAT's quite a bit. Fifteen years later I haven't really remembered much except for the Ave Maria, Pater Noster and snippets of the Aeneid.

Oh and mea culpa, mea maxima culpa for defiling this hallowed institution.
