Did you vote? And FYI, you might disagree with me, but I didn't do anything in the last nine months that deserved a ban.

Today was the first time I looked at this board.  Wow, this is the first election where I am on the ballot, not to mention leading, in my life.

I voted for anvikshiki, of course, because he's one of the best here.......and yes, you deserve banned.

Thanks, Gramps!  Smiley  If I win, the election party will feature all of our favorite drinks.  I've always found it valuable to have such a policy as a centerpiece of my campaign platform.

You'll win any election with that campaign promise, bro.  Wink

If you win, will you ban Rochambeau ?

Does winning this race give me banning privileges in Atlas?
Well, well, well, now things around here are going to change....

No, I thought about you winning the Presidency and passing a bill mandating for his ban. Wink

Well, there are lots of threads I haven't looked at yet here, and Rochambeau hasn't said anything on the threads I have read that would get a ban from me.  But, if you can show me the banworthy offenses, I'll do it.  Tongue

In other news, I am proud to have been one of the estimable 7 who voted for the "right" guy, who just continually amazes me with his erudition, fairness, good sense - and beautifully crafted prose - which is a pleasure to read in and of itself even before getting to the substance (which is of course  almost invariably there in such rich measure as well). It is all almost as good as what happened to me this past weekend, but I digress. Tongue

anvikshiki is an uber mensch in a word (or two). Period.  Smiley

Thank you, Torie!  High praise I don't deserve, but it's still really nice to hear!  Smiley

It's a good thing this was a forum election, though.  The funny thing about me (or, more accurately one of the innumerable funny things) is that, as far as my relationship with politics is concerned, I'm a lot like a sports enthusiast; I'm a better sidelines analyst than I would ever be a player.  First of all, I think my policy platform would on a national scale get me about the same number of votes I've gotten in this poll, around 7, except out of 120 million instead of 9.  Second, my experiences with "office politics" have never been pleasant.  I try to build consensus there too, where everybody gets at least some of what they want, if I can, but I hate the process.  Whenever you try to get people at least a good share of what they want, though not all of it, almost everyone always walks away pissed.  I also do some choking under pressure.  I imagine that a person has to be a lot more thick-skinned than I am, or have a lot more balls than I do, to be a good politician.  For as much as I complain about them all the time, I'm not jealous of politicians, they have jobs I doubt I'd want.

Well, that was an inspiring and confidence-building victory speech, wasn't it?  I think I should get back to the part where I point everyone to their favorite beverages.

And, Torie, my writing can't possibly be almost as good as what happened to you last weekend.  I love good writing too, but on a scale of pleasures, as Oscar Wilde might put it, going to heaven and going to a lecture on heaven aren't really on proximate levels!  Well done, by the way!  Smiley
