So I trust you learned your lesson not to "quit" the forum. Dave won't likely be so gracious again (to be honest, I'm surprised he took action here).
just want to publically point out that you weren't as welcoming upon my return as you led me to believe upon my departure:

it is done, goodbye to all.
God's speed.
Good luck! See you soon>
There was no pat on the back…no smiley face…no warm hug from you…instead, I got nothing but a cold shoulder.
To be honest, I didn't believe you'd really left - merely that you claimed to. I figured you had stashed the password with a friend or something in order to take a temporary break. I figured you'd come back under your old account, not a new one.

The forum continues to bend over backwards for jmf. Interesting.
I like Jmfcts, but arguing that "he should stay, because he's the only representative of his ideology here on Atlas" is idiotic and hypocritical. Why not unban Stark then, since he was the sole neonazi here?
Eh. I think you've misunderstood that argument.

It has Dave's policy that things said off-forum should not be posted onto the forum without the poster's permission.
Please remember that this applies to the IRC chat. Like most rules, this isn't necessarily going to be a strict interpretation. If someone posts a joke in the chat that you copy and paste here, I'm not going to infract it; however, if you post something that has negative conotations about a poster, that WILL be infracted, especially since you have no proof of who is posting in the IRC chat.
Thank you.

Yeah, let's keep Chatlogs off the main site.

Ah, so it's okay to say I want to stab The Mikado on chat?
I'm glad you clarified this issue

I suppose now would be the appropriate time to mention that Phil did not actually say any of those things.

I was the first person to have my comments from it posted here, and I wasn't the slightest bit offended. I'm more offended at the thought of someone being infracted for quoting me there.

If you're giving blanket permission to have people post your quotes, they can (I believe we had a discussion similar to this with PMs).

And like I said, I'm not gonna infract stuff if for instance you post something funny in the comedy Goldmine, as long as it won't have negative impacts on the poster and the author doesn't object.

Someone approached me earlier, and I incorrectly stated that there's no rule against posting something from off-site. However, I'm fine with enforcing this law and think it will reduce drama and the potential for libel/impersonations.

Putting aside whether it is some violation, posting such stuff is infra dig in my book. I mean, it is like recording someone in a conversation, and then releasing it without permission. Gentlemen just don't do that sort of thing in my opinion. Call me old fashioned.

Again, the supposed Phil quotes were very lame-ass, bordering almost on a sucky troll imitation.
I severely doubt he said it.

For the record, Phil was apparently in the IRC for
some
of the time, which led me to believe that all the comments "Phil" made were genuine. Apparently, I was wrong and someone was trolling. My mistake.

I was an idiot for posting these comments from the IRC chat without being sure it was really Phil (apparently, it was someone pretending to be him). And even if he was genuine, I should have not posted this either.
Again, my apologies to Phil and the community.

Please read this from Dave:

Quote from: Assemblyman & Queen Mum Inks.LWC on October 16, 2012, 02:04:54 pm
So are multiple smaller threads preferrable to larger ones? I always just assumed that like more boards, more threads would slow down the forum even if the number of posts are the same. If this is the case, there are probably some threads on Off Topic/Forum Community that can be locked and restarted.
Yes - go ahead and lock some of these longer threads - should probably keep the post count to 2k or so max per thread.
Thanks,
Dave
Therefore, we will be implementing a standard that when a thread reaches ~2,000 posts, it will be locked and a new one started. This isn't going to be a hard line rule, and I'd encourage posters to do this on their own. When a thread gets to 2,000, I'm not going to find it and lock it, and if a conversation in a particular thread is ongoing, it will be allowed to continue. But if I notice that a thread has over 2,000 posts, it'll eventually be locked (going forward - there's no point doing this to old threads.
