This thread was begging for a redo.  Bachmann is in Iowa rather than Minnesota as that seems to be her "real home state."  I considered puttng Gingrich elsewhere, as he does not really identify with Georgia, but couldn't think of a suitable location.

I did not include joke candidates like Karger and McMillan because its hard to be enthusiastic of people you have know chance of recognizing.  I include Palin, Perry, and Giuliani (but not the other possibles) because they seem to be in the news the most and I didn't want to make this poll ridiculously large.

He was leading Obama there in a head to head matchup, if I can recall.

I would say Palin is the most disliked.

Nobody cares about Gary Johnson in NM

He's old news but relatively well-liked.  Too bad the governor who succeeded him was that slime Bill Richardson.

I voted Santorum.  I would have voted Bachmann if she were listed in MN (which I think is more appropriate, her Iowa connection is tenuous).

Perry fits this perfectly though. They elect him again even though they hate him

Polling shows he is the only candidate still popular in his home state

IIRC, she's an Iowa native.  And she's only elected in Minnesota because of extreme gerrymandering.

She left Iowa as a minor and her entire political career has been in MN.  MN is more appropriate, IMO.

Johnson screwed himself by not bothering to stay involved in NM politics after leaving office.  He should have run for something in 2008 at least when the Senate and all three House seats' incumbents didn't run for re-election.  It would at least have given him the leverage of holding an office in 2012 and get invited to a debate.  Right now as irrelevant as Buddy Roemer.

…Mitt Romney.

Perhaps Minnesota prefers Michele Bachmann hail from Iowa.

Rick Santorum is lucky just to be on this list. (Congratulations!)

And one has to wonder about Utah and Jon Huntsman — especially if the frequent misspelling of his first name, which doesn't include an h — continues.

I voted Gingrich, he seems completely irrelevant to Georgia at this point (and practically irrelevant nationally).
