http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0711/59340.html

Bachmann has migraine episodes that average about once a week. Apparently, there are times when she is incapacitated for days.

'Good' news for: Perry, Paul, Cain, Palin
Bad news for: Bachmann (that it got out), Romney, Huntsman, Pawlenty

I'm using the word 'good' loosely for obvious reasons.

The possession jokes have already begun on other parts on the internet, so lets just pretend one was made here and move on.

I don't know much about migraines, but I have heard they are no joke. I do wish her the best in health.

As a sufferer myself, they are pure evil, so anyone who is also a sufferer has my deepest sympathy.

My most recent case required a hospital visit and the administration of pethadine, and I was out of action for 36 hours.

Better out now than if she became the nom.

I don't really have a problem with this. They are freakin painful and can last long, but you can still go on.

If you're president and you're incapacitated for hours or even days because of health issues, it's problematic. I don't know if President Bachmann (yes, I know that will probably never be the case) could make fast and important decisions during one of these migraine attacks, and being able to do that whenever it is necessary is essential if you're president.

Quick and effective response from the Bachmann camp: http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2011/07/19/7113318-bachmann-says-her-migraines-are-controllable

Makes her campaign structure appear more credible in my eyes.

If they're anything like the ocular migraines I've had I sympathize.

She hurts my head, just as well that she hurts her own, too.

I have a great amount of sympathy for the woman. I had migraines for years until I saw a neurologist.

My brother gets them-he had too go to the hospital a few times when he was little--I wish her the best, out of politics, of course.

This must be why she and her brain have such an adversarial relationship most of the time.

This is among the least of my concerns when considering Bachmann as a candidate.

It's probably the devil lurking her for being in such close proximity to a homosexual (her husband Marcus).

The cover-up is always a bigger headache than the migraine.

Bachmann goons shoved around an ABC reporter trying to hound her for an answer.  Maybe the Howard Dean model is a good one for her.  The media may protect their own.

The point: the Presidency is the ultimate mind job -- and migraines could incapacitate someone as completely for a day or two as a stroke.

Just imagine how badly things could have go in a disaster, as when Saddam Hussein invaded Kuwait, had the President at the time (the elder Bush) had a stroke. A rapid response  can be essential.

Maxalt - they're about $50 a pill and no, you do not want to mess around with a woman with a migraine. It also would be the days that Dems would not want to come around looking for another hand out.

FDR was wheelchair bound.  JFK had severe back problems.  LBJ had a weak heart.  MMB had migraines.

If a reporter is continually trying to follow her literally into the car what are they supposed to do? Saying please don't go there obviously isn't enough to stop a member of the press like that who will do anything for a story.

I fortunately can't say whether it's worse to suffer from regular migraine attacks that take up to one or two days than from chronic back problems or being in a wheelchair. My point is that such severe migraine attacks can potentially be a problem if you've got to take immediate decisions as a president, especially since, as has been pointed out in a previous post, being president is a mind job. But then again, I have no clue how severe Bachmann's migraine is and to what extent it incapacitates her.
